Chapter 114 - Find an opportunity

When Martin Riley arrived home, he found Crystal Foster sitting at the dining table having dinner.

The moment she saw him, Crystal was visibly startled and instinctively avoided his gaze, a move that successfully darkened Martin's expression.

"Um... dinner's ready," Crystal said awkwardly, sensing that Martin, towering over her, had a lot on his mind to discuss.

Yet, for some reason, Martin didn't say a word, merely responding with a nonchalant "hmm."

Crystal found the meal tasteless, like chewing on wax, and hurriedly finished before retreating to her room. She had barely sat down when Hyland Riley called.

Crystal noticed that Hyland's voice lacked the urgency from their last meeting, as if he had sorted everything out.

She slowly curled her lips into a smile, "Mr. Riley, you sound quite good. So, have you done what you promised?"

Standing by the window, Hyland gazed at the view outside, his eyes unreadable.
