Martin Riley gave the order, and Henry worked even faster. He started investigating the colleagues who worked overtime that night and quickly found a lead.
"Megan Reed is resigning?"
He remembered her; she was from the finance department and had previously come to the office to report on some matters. She was also one of the people who worked late that night. Most importantly, she was the last to leave before the cameras went down.
"Yes, she said her mom is sick, and she needs to take her back home for treatment."
"Did she mention what kind of illness?" Henry frowned, finding her suspicious.
"Something like breast cancer, I think," a colleague from HR sighed. "Megan Reed has had a tough life. Her parents divorced when she was very young, and her mom raised her alone. Just when Megan was doing well, her mom got sick."
Another colleague walked in and overheard them talking about Megan. "Megan Reed? She seems to be pretty close with Hazel."
