Chapter 175 - Childhood trauma

"What do you want me to do now?" Alex Elliott grabbed Daisy Sanchez's wrist, his eyes bloodshot as he stared at her. "Tell me, how can I win Sylvia back?"

Daisy could see the pain in Alex's eyes, but she felt her own heartache was even greater. Holding back tears, she looked at him. "Sylvia has a soft heart. You need to act pitiful in front of her, really pitiful, to have any chance of winning her back."

"Act pitiful? Do you think I don't look pitiful enough already?"

Daisy gently touched Alex's face, but he quickly brushed her hand away.

"Your pity hasn't been seen by her, so it doesn't matter."

"Do you know what it means to rise from the ashes?" Daisy's eyes locked onto Alex's. "You need to let go of Sylvia, at least pretend to, and be her friend."

"You want me to give up on Sylvia?" Alex snapped his head up, pushing Daisy aside. "I knew you had ulterior motives. Let me tell you, even without Sylvia, I would never be with you."
