[A/N: Well I didn't want to like strave you guys of his aspect legacy so here it is... Hopefully most liked it...]
_____
Asher forced himself to breathe evenly, keeping his thoughts from spiraling as he stared at the runes again and again.
Abyss Reflects Seven Mastery Level: [2/7].
The First Reflection: [Claim].
The Second Reflection [Claim].
The Third Reflection: Unearned.
....
Asher's eyes widened.
'Two… out of seven?'
[Nimble Intellect] whirred in the back of his mind, connecting dots before he consciously did.
His reflection in the window caught his eye—wavy black hair streaked lightly with white, crimson eyes burning with a depth that hadn't been there before.
His lineage had evolved twice.
That meant... his Legacy grew with his lineage. Every evolution unlocked another fraction of the seven's power.
His pulse hammered, but he dragged his attention back to the runes of the first fragment.
**
Fragment Name: [Burden of Weight]
Fragment Description:"Ariel knew that the Truth was a weight no soul could carry. You have learned that gravity is not just the curvature of space, but the crushing burden of reality."
Fragment Ability: [Conceptual Mass]
Fragment Ability Description: "You can assign weight to tangible and intangible concepts within your [Event Horizon]."
**
Asher flinched.
This.. was unexpected. No legacy was like this. Asher narrowed his gaze at the description his eyes widened slightly.
The word intangible was certainly vague...
He swallowed and moved to the second reflection.
**
Fragment Name: [Event Stasis]
Fragment Description: "To the dead, a second is an eternity. To the Abyss, motion is a fleeting lie. You have learned to enforce the stillness of the dead."
Fragment Ability Name: [Motion Repose]
Fragment Ability Description: "You can create a localized field of "Repose" where kinetic energy for a moment hits a standstill."
**
Asher frowned.
He could already manipulate motion through gravity—bend trajectories, anchor momentum, even collapse force vectors. This felt… adjacent. Like a cousin to his existing techniques.
Asher had noticed that both the fragment abilities where characterises of other daemons and something plausible and interlinked with Asher's aspect or rather, he could partially do it with gravity.
He shook his head. There was too much to test.
For now…
His lips curled.
Relics.
Holding his breath, he concentrated on the runes describing the first reflection and whispered:
"Claim."
As Asher watched, the runes glowed brightly for a few seconds, and then changed.
The First Reflection: Claimed.
And a moment later, the Spell spoke softly into his ear:
[You have received an Aspect Legacy Relic.]
[You have received a memory, Diadem of the Unfinished.]
Asher smiled, opening the runes of the memory.
Memory Name: [Diadem of the Unfinished]
Memory Rank: Divine.
Memory Tier: I
Memory Type: Tool.
Memory Description:
[Once, a shadow from the void sought to wear a living soul as a mask. It brought with it the weight of a god, intending to claim a new avatar.
But the vessel soul refused to break. The possession failed, and the god was left trapped within the very shell it sought to command. This crown is the physical manifestation of that broken ambition. It grants no dominion, for the King is in chains and the Usurper knows no law.]
Memory Enchantments:
[Broken Dominion]: "Upon activation, the Diadem projects a field of "Falsehood." Within this field, the concept of Command ceases to exist."
Asher felt a sense of excitement wash over him. It was his... first divine memory; A broken one at that.
'Erasing a concept?'
That sounded way too good... Asher narrowed his eyes a bit, the excitement dying down. There must be some sort of draw back.. Asher simply had a sixth sense of sorts for these situations.
He knew it had to come with a catch. Nothing of this magnitude was free.
But he could think about drawbacks later.
He still had one more relic.
"Claim," he whispered again.
The Spell answered:
[You have received an Aspect Legacy Relic.]
[You have received a memory, Seed of the Leaking Dream]
Runes unfurled.
Memory Name: [Seed of the Leaking Dream]
Memory Rank: Ascended.
Memory Rank: V
Memory Type: Weapon / Summon
Memory Description:
[There is a cage built of fate and essence, designed to hold a prisoner too vast for existence to endure. The prisoner sleeps, lulled by an eternal dream, for if they were to wake, the cage would shatter.
But even the strongest walls have cracks. This seed is a drop of fevered sweat that escaped the prison. It is a fragment of a nightmare that the prisoner dreamt while thrashing against their chains. When sown, it births a horror that has no place in this reality]
Memory Enchantments:
[Fevered Birth]: "The user can throw the seed to instantly spawn a random Nightmare Creature with a constraint of being maximum one rank above the memory's rank."
[Mending Slumber]: "After the summoned creature is destroyed or dismissed, the seed cracks and becomes inert. It requires a period of three days to "mend" itself."
Asher frowned as he finished the last set of runes.
This memory… was unpredictable. A complete wild card. He couldn't think of a single scenario where he'd willingly use it. For an Aspect relic, it was a little underwhelming.
But he didn't mind.
He didn't need help from memories.
Not from something he planned to destroy anyway.
He exhaled slowly and dismissed the final rune cluster.
"Alright," he muttered. "A lot to test—"
"Asher! We're here!"
His thoughts shattered.
Asher blinked and turned toward the window. Outside stood a modest two-story home, warm light glowing through its curtains.
Kido's home.
He stepped off the PTV with a blank expression, still half caught in the weight of his Aspect Legacy. The night air was crisp, the sky a deep indigo, and the house looked… cozy. Gentle. Peaceful in a way his life had never been.
He was invited to dinner.
It was nearly 8 PM, and the warm yellow lights inside softened the world around them. Kido and Gemma walked up to the door and knocked gently.
It opened to a young woman—pretty, polished, with tired eyes softened by a smile.
"Welcome back. I hope you had a wonderful da—"
"MAAMMYY!"
A tiny figure launched at Kido like a missile.
Kido laughed, catching the child effortlessly and spinning her around.
"Feisty as always, huh?" She leaned in and nibbled the girl's nose.
"Mammy! It tickles! Stop!" the child squealed, giggling uncontrollably.
Kido let out a warm laugh and passed the girl into Gemma's arms before turning back to Asher.
"What are you waiting for?" she said, grinning. "Come in! I asked Erina here to prepare all kinds of food!"
She raised an eyebrow. "And I think it's about time you actually eat something, no?"
Asher stared at her for a moment.
Then a slow grin tugged at his lips.
"About time," he said softly. "Indeed."
