"People die!" The words tumbled out before Sera could hold them back. She quickly covered her mouth, embarrassment washing over her.
"Oh." Jin's expression dropped. "That's... really scary."
"I'm not scared!" Sera retorted instinctively, then her energy dipped a bit. "I'm just... rightly worried about what could go wrong."
Jin nodded slowly as he processed her words. "Asha says that's just a fancy way of saying you're scared."
*"I don't remember saying that,"* Asha chimed in his mind. *"But it is an accurate observation."*
"Your AI should stay out of it," Sera grumbled, crossing her arms.
"She can't help it; she's always in my head." Jin paused. "Actually, that sounds pretty creepy when I say it out loud."
Despite herself, Sera let out a small chuckle. "Everything about you is just stupid, Jin."
"Is that a bad thing?" He looked genuinely concerned.
"N-no, it's..." Sera caught herself, her cheeks turning pink. "It's just... you. Annoyingly... you."
