Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: System effects

Correction:

"What kind of drugs did this kid take for me to hallucinate like this?" Damien scoffed.

...

[No, host. You are not on drugs. I am the system.]

"Alright, so what exactly do you do?" he asked as he stood up straighter.

[My function is to assist the host. Whenever you train or practice, your progress will be ten times faster.]

"Oh really?" he said, feeling a bit doubtful.

There were countless treasures in the world capable of causing calamity and destruction, like the Fate-Defying Pearl he once knew someone possessed.

That pearl could alter a person's destiny and even grant them unmatched talent. But a treasure this advanced made him cautious, especially since he had never encountered anything like it in his previous life.

To be honest, in his first life as the God of Lust, he had countless treasures. So many, in fact, they could pile into a mountain and fill a world as vast as the sun.

"So, you're telling me that just by training or practicing, the effect will activate?" he asked, still trying to confirm it.

[That's right. But before that, a one-time mission must be completed.]

...

[One time mission: Rape A Woman. Man, or even a ladyboy is not allowed.

Reward: Random Treasure

(Note: The reward will be a treasure from your first life, ranked between Saint Tier and Lost Treasure Tier. Lesser treasures are excluded, as you once possessed countless lower-tier treasures.)

Failure: System will be permanently removed.]

...

Seeing the message, he narrowed his eyes as a smirk curled on his lips, "Removal of the system? Does it look like I care?" he scoffed.

Who was he? The God of Lust, the bringer of pleasure and delight. The only cultivator who had ever dared to confront the heavens and survive for three years.

And this treasure wants him to do some unspeakable things? As the god of lust, he had his own principles.

Dual cultivation is love and passion. If it's forced, then it's not cultivation but corruption.

"And I don't tolerate filth in my Dao. Shoo! This cultivator doesn't need you," Damien said, waving his fingers dismissively.

The system fell silent. Damien stood there, waiting for it to disappear. But instead, the system suddenly lit up, glowing brighter than before.

[I know you don't. But this was merely a test, to see your character.]

[Mission completed. A random treasure has been awarded to the host.]

Suddenly, a blinding light burst forth from the system. It was so intense it could scorch the eyes, but Damien didn't flinch.

Even as his vision threatened to fade, he kept his eyes open and stood his ground.

[Congratulations the treasure you have gotten 'Crimson Flame Bamboo']

[Crimson Flame Bamboo: A divine treasure had a slight chance to grown to ancient treasure depending on nourishment. This bamboo was said to be born in the Forbidden Garden of the Ninefold Heaven, where only gods of desire and wrath were allowed to tread]

Seeing the treasure he had received, Damien burst into laughter, overwhelmed with joy. He hadn't expected this at all.

"Is this fate? My favorite treasure"

"Let us dive in together once more and challenge the heavens," Damien bellowed as a glowing seed emerged from the system panel.

He extended his hand and caught it gently. The smile on his face never faded.

The Crimson Flame Bamboo was the very first treasure he obtained when he began his pursuit of immortality. It greatly enhanced the efficiency of dual cultivation.

With its help, his cultivation had once soared rapidly. Over time, he had grown fond of it, and now, holding it in his hands again, he couldn't help but feel a deep sense of joy.

The crimson seed hovered in his palm, pulsing softly like a heartbeat. He then guided it inward with a strand of Qi, letting it flow through his meridians and settle deep into his core.

The moment it touched the center of his dantian, a strange heat spread through him. Not fire, but something deeper. Like an emotion given shape.

The seed pulsed once. Then again. It drank from his energy, fed on his will, and slowly, it began to take root.

He felt it. A faint sprout, no thicker than a thread, growing in the depths of his being. It wasn't painful. It was intimate. As if the bamboo knew him.

He closed his eyes the Crimson Flame Bamboo had been planted. And it was alive.

"The feeling is really good," as he opened his eyes.

His once malnourished body began to change, gradually filling out with strength and vitality until he looked like a healthy teenager.

His aura radiated a fiery heat that carried an overwhelming presence.

"When I form a soul sea and create my inner world, I'll need to replant it there," he muttered to himself.

For now, placing it in his dantian was his only option.

To unlock the treasure's full potential, it needed to be rooted in either the soul sea or the inner world. With that thought, he lit a fire nearby and began skinning the wolf he had hunted.

He ate his fill, devouring the meat one bite at a time. When he was done, he let out a satisfied burp, feeling completely full.

As he looked up, he noticed the sky had darkened. Night was clearly setting in.

Since he had no idea where to go, he decided to spend the time practicing a technique he remembered.

He knew he would not be so lucky the next time he encountered a high-level beast.

Searching through his memories, he found one. Veil of the Forgotten Heavens. It was a technique he had acquired long ago from the tomb of an ancient powerhouse.

It was said to be created by a being who walked through the Celestial Heavens unseen by gods, whispering secrets into the ears of kings, assassins, and immortals alike.

Over time, the technique was banned, destroyed, and forgotten except by one, the God of Lust himself.

During his adventures, he had once engaged in dual cultivation with a bride who was supposed to be married the next day.

She belonged to the Crimson Scale Clan, a powerful force within the Thousand Star Domain.

He was hunted day and night for ten long years, constantly on the run with no rest. Yet, through this relentless pursuit, he gained an unexpected opportunity.

From that experience, he earned the title 'The Veiled Immortal'.

Whenever he was cornered, captured, or even imprisoned in the Stargate Abyss which is a place where no cultivator had ever escaped.

He became the first to break free, making his name even more renowned.

With that memory in mind, he sat down and began practicing the technique, his eyes sharp with focus.

The air around him grew still. He emptied his mind, letting go of all distractions, and concentrated fully on the ancient technique etched deep within his soul.

The Veil of the Forgotten Heavens was not a technique of motion but one of absence. To be unseen, he had to first become nothing.

He guided a thin stream of Qi through his meridians, weaving it along the paths described in the scripture. His breathing slowed until even the wind seemed to forget he was there.

His heartbeat faded into silence. The warmth in his body dulled, leaving behind a presence so faint it felt like the air had simply given up noticing him.

[System Notification: Practicing Detected]

[Activating Effect: Ten Times EXP Boost]

[Your comprehension of 'Veil of the Forgotten Heavens' is accelerating]

Inside his mind, the flow of insights sharpened. Movements that once felt abstract began to make sense. His spirit adjusted.

His Qi bent to the rhythm of stillness. The world did not react to him because, to the world, he no longer existed.

Leaves rustled nearby, but not a single one shifted in his presence. Even the insects wandered past him as if he were part of the ground.

His body remained still, but deep within his dantian, energy began to pulse gently. The technique had taken root.

He could feel it working, slowly cloaking every part of him in something far more powerful than invisibility.

It was forgetfulness, detachment? rather oblivion!

After three hours of cultivation he finally stopped as he breathed a deep air his eyes were emotionless.

"Ten percent mastery already? It's really ten times faster than in my first life," he said in surprise.

The so-called system was truly a treasure. But he was still a little wary of it, since its origin was unknown, but he chose to focus on what mattered most.

With that, he activated the technique. It completed instantly. He was still there, clearly visible to himself, but to the world around him, he had vanished completely.

With that, he began to move, leaping up into the trees and jumping from branch to branch. After an hour of searching for a way out, he still couldn't find an exit.

"Finding the way out will take too much time. I need to find someone who can give me directions if I want to leave," he muttered, stopping on a branch as he looked around.

He then decided it was better to cultivate for now, since he was still too weak.

Even though he had a concealment skill, raising his level was a smarter choice than wasting time wandering aimlessly through the forest.

But when he was about to start to cultivate a loud rustling sound was heard, and a hint of QI was spread out clearly someone where fighting.

"Well, well, well," he said in a low voice as he watched from a very far place.

"I guess leaving this place won't be a problem after all." With those words, he vanished from sight running towards that place.
