Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: We're staying at the old house tonight.

As soon as Kong Chengyi finished speaking, thunderous applause erupted. Fang Xiufang waved her hand for silence, then announced loudly, "To celebrate Chengyi getting married and the Kong family soon having more little ones, all hotel rooms and restaurants under Chengzai Group will have a 40% discount! This offer lasts for a week, and all guests tonight get priority!"

The renowned Chengzai Hotel, for the first time ever, was offering discounted stays, and even their restaurants, which were usually impossible to book, were on sale. The guests could no longer hide their excitement, wishing they could book their stays and meals right now to enjoy Chengzai Hotel's attentive service and delicious food.

The entire banquet hall boiled over with even more excitement, the enthusiastic applause lasting for a long time, and congratulatory words echoing one after another, just like the festive atmosphere of New Year's Day.

Fang Xiufang grinned, watching the loving young couple. She felt like this was the happiest and most comfortable birthday she had ever had. If she could hold a chubby great-grandson while celebrating her birthday next year, she would have no regrets in this life.

After giving her speech and accepting the blessings of many guests, Fang Xiufang contentedly began leading Hua Lianxi around the room, proudly introducing her again to closer guests. Kong Chengyi had no choice but to follow closely, even reluctantly taking on the responsibility of small talk.

After a round of polite greetings, Kong Chengyi finished his champagne in one gulp and leaned down to whisper in Fang Xiufang's ear, "Grandma, you're tired tonight, you should go back first!"

"Go back? Then you two come back with me! We're staying at the old house tonight!" Without hesitation, Fang Xiufang agreed, her shrewd eyes glancing at his face as if hinting at something.

Raising both eyebrows and feeling a slight headache, Kong Chengyi looked at Fang Xiufang's beaming face and nodded helplessly.

Supporting Fang Xiufang, Hua Lianxi secretly glanced at Kong Chengyi, took a few deep breaths, and quietly tried to regulate her erratic heartbeat.

The two accompanied Fang Xiufang back to the old house. As soon as they got out of the car, Fang Xiufang immediately instructed the butler, "The young master is staying home tonight. Don't let him leave under any circumstances until tomorrow!"

Rubbing his temples, Kong Chengyi walked towards the living room first with a cold and silent expression.

Hua Lianxi watched his broad back, biting her lip to suppress a smile, and carefully supported Fang Xiufang as they also headed to the living room.

Pulling off his tie and unbuttoning two buttons of his shirt, Kong Chengyi leaned back tiredly on the sofa, playing with his diamond-encrusted lighter in his right hand.

Just stepping through the door, Fang Xiufang yelled towards the kitchen, "Aunt Yang, quickly bring the soup for the young master!"

"Coming, coming!" Aunt Yang, the Kong family's cook, replied as she carried out a large bowl of dark Chinese herbal medicine. The once fresh air was instantly filled with the strong smell of herbs.

Wrinkling her nose, Hua Lianxi pressed her lips together even tighter, afraid she might accidentally reveal her secretly amused smile.

Annoyed, Kong Chengyi tossed the lighter onto the coffee table. He pressed his fingertips to his temples and said coldly with a dark face, "Grandma, I can't drink this medicine anymore. If I keep drinking it, I'll be useless, and then you can really forget about having a great-grandson!" He never wanted to experience that burning, blood-boiling heat again.

Letting out a cold "hmph," Fang Xiufang gestured for Aunt Yang to bring the medicine in front of Kong Chengyi. "It's been two months since you got married, and Lianxi's stomach still hasn't shown any signs!"
