Chapter 146 - Chapter 147: Many students are losing hope.

Because of Damon's behavior in the hall, nearly 30% of the witches suddenly cooled down—they no longer enthusiastically discussed Damon with others in public.

Meanwhile, some witches became even more enthusiastic—they blocked Damon's classroom after class, making enthusiastic invitations to meet him, inventing all kinds of excuses. The most surprising thing was that a Slytherin senior offered to take him to the Slytherin common room, saying she thought the view from the office at the bottom of the lake was beautiful.

  Damon refused all of them,

and many more hearts were broken.

And Luna, the lucky one in their eyes, seemed completely oblivious to her own great feat—she remained as crazy as ever.

But no one dared to bully her anymore—no one dared to hide her wand anymore. Many of her lost items were quickly and quietly returned to her desk on the day Damon agreed to a date.

Luna had planned to write a list of lost items at the end of the semester and ask those who had lost them to return them, but now they had found them, bringing her joy every day.

Even before she started dating Damon, she was already experiencing the benefits.

Because of her unacceptable behavior, this eccentric girl was bullied at school shortly after she started.

But now, it seemed that the bullying would stop completely.

Did they bully her more out of jealousy?

If those people weren't crazy—who doesn't know the Dueling Prince's temper? If the Dueling Prince and Luna really became a couple after Valentine's Day, honestly, the bullies would want to kneel down and apologize to Luna just by thinking about it.

The Dueling Prince was gentle, but also decisive—he dared to beat up Malfoy in front of the teachers, so what would he do to them in private?

Because of this, the "school bullying" that the Dueling Prince disliked had disappeared even more recently.

The professors suddenly came to Damon again.

Everyone gathered in Dumbledore's office again.

"This happened just a week ago, didn't it? Should we have regular gatherings in the Headmaster's office from now on?"

Damon picked up a strawberry macaron and cheerfully stuffed it into his mouth—his frivolous expression caused Professor McGonagall to frown, a rare occurrence.

"The situation is more serious than we imagined, Damon," Professor McGonagall said solemnly.

"Indeed, this matter requires intervention," Professor Flitwick said, not wanting to remain unmoved.

"This is all the fault of the Duelling Prince," Snape tried to sound sarcastic, but a subtle flicker of worry crossed his face.

Dumbledore looked at them, confused as to what was happening. He had been preoccupied with Ministry affairs recently. After the Christmas feast, Fudge's political actions had become more intense, and he often had to spend more time managing complex interpersonal relationships. In fact, he was considering supporting a new Minister for Magic, but he feared that doing so would inevitably cause unrest within the Ministry.

  This made Dumbledore hesitate.

He was also busy searching for a new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.

Therefore, he had neglected to pay attention to the school—he had assumed that with Damon around, the school would be safe.

Now it seems that, just like the last time with the basilisk, there are other places that he has not paid attention to?

Thinking of this, his expression became serious.

  "What happened?"

"This matter may sound ridiculous, but it is definitely more serious than you think."

Professor McGonagall looked at Dumbledore seriously, which made him feel even more nervous - it seemed like something that was about to happen but did not happen. It was good that it was so, and it could still be salvaged.

"A large number of students are losing hope."

".What happened? A Dementor entered the school?"

Dumbledore's expression became more serious - Dementors can only be controlled by the Ministry of Magic. Could Fudge be crazy?

"No, it's far more serious than this." Professor McGonagall pursed her lips.

  "What exactly happened, Minerva?"

Dumbledore was ready to draw his wand.

When it came to his beloved students, he wouldn't give in, no matter who stood in his way!

Professor McGonagall pointed at Damon, who was eating his cake. "This brat is the culprit."

  Damon

was nibbling his cake in mid-air, using a levitation charm, pointing at him in confusion—Dumbledore found his comical appearance quite amusing.

But now was no time for such a relaxing moment.

What outrageous thing had Damon done, hiding from him, that had the professors united to bring him down?

Dumbledore remained silent, his eyes urging Minerva—what was it? Could you please tell me now?

Fawkes, the phoenix, trembled slightly, waking from his slumber—it was ready to be deployed.

"That brat," Professor McGonagall pointed at Damon and nodded. "Ah! How can I explain this!"

  She looked troubled.

Dumbledore was a little annoyed by her annoyance—he had never seen Minerva so embarrassed.

She probably had high hopes for Damon and liked him, but the man they both agreed was the hope of the wizarding world had done something that deeply grieved them, leading to this dilemma

  . "Let me tell you,"

  Snape couldn't help but interrupt.

Dumbledore nodded in agreement, his expression stern—but he suddenly noticed something strange about Snape's expression—a touch of sarcasm and mockery.

  Dumbledore calmed down a bit.

"Headmaster," he said, "did you hear the crying in the school?"

"Severus, you might as well put it more bluntly."

"Oh—" He glanced meaningfully at Damon, who was still eating his cake. "To put it simply, because the Dueling Prince rashly decided to date a girl on Valentine's Day, every witch in the school has been heartbroken."

  A

rare flicker of surprise crossed Dumbledore's face.

"This matter is very serious! Dumbledore!"

Professor McGonagall seemed to have guessed his reaction and added:

"Students have been absent from class a lot recently! We simply can't punish them all!

A large number of witches have taken sick leave, and now at least one-third of the students in each grade and each class are absent - those naughty guys took advantage of the chaos and joined in this farce.

If this continues, I can't imagine what will happen when Valentine's Day really comes!"

"Ah, my lovely children have red eyes every day, and it really hurts me as the headmaster."

Professor Flitwick also added at this time.

  Dumbledore understood, he understood everything.

He looked at Fawkes, and Fawkes understood instantly, acting as Dumbledore's eyes and quickly patrolling Hogwarts.

Then, all the professors stared at Damon, who was drinking black tea to relieve the greasiness after finishing his cake.
