Chapter 293 - Chapter 293 – The Invasion of Edenfall

I. The Dawn of War

Dawn never came to Edenfall.

The sky turned metallic red, streaked with golden flashes and living shadows. Thousands of Council drones deployed from orbit, descending in perfect formation like an artificial storm.

From the top of the Tree, Akihiko gazed at the horizon.

The wind carried with it the murmur of thousands of voices, human and non-human, preparing for defense.

Beside him, Kaede adjusted the battle communicator.

"The units in the southern district are ready. Sael is coordinating the power line with the roots. The western perimeter is already covered."

Akihiko nodded.

"We won't give an inch." "And Liria?" Kaede asked. "She'll decide her own fate," he replied , looking up at the sky. "

But whatever happens, I won't let them use her as a weapon against us."

The Tree resonated, emitting a pulse that reverberated throughout the city.

Structures rose like living columns; rivers became channels of energy.

Edenfall was fully awakened.

II. The Army of Dawn

In low Earth orbit, Tobias Kroll directed the offensive from the main bridge of the Helios Prime .

Around him, holograms displayed the attack sectors and the Tree's energy points.

"Activate the Alpha and Beta swarm," he ordered firmly. "

Make sure the reactors are pointed at the central core."

An officer replied,

"Sir, the readings show interference in all systems. The Eden flow is distorting our energy weapons."

Tobias slammed his fist on the console.

"Then we'll do it the old-fashioned way. Use physical weaponry. Kinetic missiles, gravity projectiles."

Aldrich Valen appeared via transmission, with his usual glacial calm.

"You're wasting resources, Tobias. The Tree will absorb everything you throw at it."

"Don't underestimate it," Tobias

replied . "I'm not afraid of Eden. I know it better than anyone."

Eris Nocturne approached the hologram, her smile enigmatic.

"And what about your 'sister'?" "She... will return to me," Tobias replied, though his voice trembled for a moment.

Aldrich sighed.

"As you wish. But remember: if she becomes uncontrollable, I myself will give the order to eliminate her."

Communication was cut off.

Tobias looked toward the front window. "Let them try." And he gave the order: " Begin the invasion."

III. The First Impact

The sky roared.

The Council's first waves fell upon Edenfall like burning rain. The missiles tore through the atmosphere, but upon reaching the city limits, the Tree's roots rose up and stopped them with an explosion of golden light.

Sael, from the southern command post, shouted over the communicator:

"Akihiko! They're trying to break through the eastern district's perimeter. They've deployed ground units!"

Akihiko replied,

"Keep the lines steady. I'm on my way."

He descended from the main tower like an arrow, enveloped in an aura of energy that blended fire and darkness.

His sword, Kurohikari , shone with dual intensity.

When he hit the ground, the impact generated a shockwave that brought down nearby drones.

The Council's mercenaries opened fire, but Akihiko was moving too fast; his silhouette was a flash of lightning slicing through the air.

" Edenfall will not fall to the shadows of the past," he declared, and with a movement, he unleashed a wave of energy that swept away the entire enemy front.

IV. Kaede and the Western Front

Meanwhile, Kaede led the western front.

Energy channels flowed beneath her feet, connected to the Tree, and her control over the light currents was nearly perfect.

"Divert the projectiles toward the secondary towers!" he shouted. "Use the reverse flow of the Void to redirect them!"

The Council's attacks disintegrated before reaching the ground, transformed into luminous dust.

Kaede raised her energy spear and pointed it at the sky. "If you want the power of Eden, you will have to pay with your own soul."

A gigantic blast ripped through the clouds, bringing down one of the enemy's smaller ships.

Sael heard her through the communicator.

"Nice shot, Kaede." "It wasn't a shot," she replied. "It was a warning."

V. Liria

Inside the Helios Prime , Liria observed the battle from her link pod.

Her body was connected to the Council's systems, but her mind wandered beyond them.

He could feel the Tree… feel Akihiko.

And the Tree spoke to him.

"Your destiny is not to obey. Your existence is not a mistake."

Liria opened her eyes.

The monitors around her began to flicker uncontrollably.

A technician shouted:

"It's interfering with the main network! Disconnect it, quickly!"

But it was too late.

The Eden current surged through the ship, overloading the systems. Liria broke free from her restraints and slowly stood up. Her gray eyes turned gold for a moment.

"I will not destroy Edenfall," he whispered. "

Not for them... not for you, Tobias."

VI. Tobias vs. Liria

The lab door swung open with a clang.

Tobias stormed in, furious. "Shut down the connection right now!"

Liria stared at him without moving.

"Why did you make me like this?" "Because the world needed a weapon against the mistakes of the past." "Or because you needed something to replace what you lost?" she asked.

Tobias froze.

"You don't know what you're talking about." "I know you don't want to destroy Akihiko. You want to prove you can be like him." "Shut up!" he roared, and struck her with an electric shock.

Liria fell to her knees, screaming, but even in her pain, she smiled.

"You can't... extinguish what is already part of Eden."

An explosion rocked the ship.

Alarms blared. Edenfall had struck back.

VII. Akihiko – The Guardian Unleashed

From the center of the battlefield, Akihiko sensed Liria's energy.

She was alive. And she was holding on.

His katana ignited with a perfect blend of light and shadow.

— Then I'm not alone.

Around him, the roots rose like golden serpents, destroying the enemy tanks.

Every step Akihiko took echoed with the voice of the Tree.

"Protect the heart of the world. Darkness is not your enemy; it is your reflection."

The Guardian raised his sword to the sky.

A column of pure energy pierced the clouds, splitting a Council ship in two. The roar of the impact echoed across the continent.

Edenfall was not just defending itself: it was awakening something much bigger.

VIII. The Council Observes

At their remote base, Aldrich Valen and Eris Nocturne watched the transmission.

Eris smiled, fascinated. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" "It's dangerous," Aldrich

replied . "If Eden manages to extend that power, no nation or god will be able to control it."

Eris slowly turned the glass between her fingers.

"Then perhaps the time has come to stop controlling... and begin to evolve."

Aldrich looked at her coldly.

"Don't confuse admiration with faith. Eden doesn't save anyone. It only chooses who deserves to be remembered."

And, with a gesture, he activated one last command on his panel:

Operation Helios Phase II: Awakening of the Black Sun.

IX. The Light of Chaos

In the sky, a second fleet of the Council emerged from the darkness.

Its energy core, known as the Black Sun , began to glow with dangerous intensity.

It was a spiritual bomb, capable of obliterating all the energy of Eden within a radius of kilometers.

Kaede, from his post, shouted:

"Akihiko! There's a new signal in orbit! It's massive!"

Akihiko looked up, sensing the danger.

Liria felt it too from the ship. The pulse of the Black Sun pierced her.

Her eyes widened in terror.

" They're going to destroy everything..."

X. Two Hearts, One Destiny

Through their spiritual bond, Akihiko and Liria connected again, wordlessly.

He showed her the city. She showed him the light of the Black Sun.

They both understood what they had to do.

" If we destroy that core, the war will be over..." Liria thought.

" But you could die," Akihiko replied.

" I wasn't born to obey. I was born to decide."

The Tree shone brightly, responding in unison.

The balance was about to break… or be reborn.

🕯️ End of Chapter 293 The Council of Dawn launches its all-out attack against Edenfall. Akihiko , Kaede, and Sael defend the city with the help of the Tree, which shows its full power for the first time. Liria rebels against Tobias and the Council, choosing to protect Edenfall. Tobias , blinded by his hatred, activates the final phase of the operation: The Black Sun , a spiritual weapon capable of erasing Eden. Akihiko and Liria are completely in sync, knowing that the next step will decide the fate of the world.
