Chapter 238: The Holy Saint of the Demon Sect Makes a Dashing Entrance

Daybreak Mountain.

Although it was quite a distance from Daybreak City, even a Foundation Establishment sword cultivator who had just learned the art of sword flight wouldn't take long to travel between the two places.

Especially in Sword Province, which, unlike Xuanyuan Province, did not have the Immortal Nation's ban on flying for cultivators below the Nascent Soul Realm.

As a result, the outer perimeter of Daybreak Mountain had already gathered a large number of cultivators from Daybreak City, all drawn by the news.

After all, whether it was a Heaven-grade Soulblade Specter or a Nascent Soul cultivator, most people rarely had the opportunity to even catch a glimpse of either in their lifetime.

And a battle where Nascent Soul sword cultivators encircle and hunt a Heaven-grade Soulblade Specter?

That was something only found in the tales of storytellers!

The people of Daybreak City had always revered the legendary stories of sword immortals. Now that they had a chance to witness such an event firsthand, they were thrilled beyond belief—there was no way they would miss this!

And with the crowd mentality kicking in, even more cultivators began arriving in teams, causing the spectators outside Daybreak Mountain to multiply exponentially.

Of course, these low-level cultivators knew better than to actually approach the mountain.

They weren't fools—everyone understood they were here just for the spectacle. Watching from a distance was fine, but if they got too close and got caught in the crossfire, there would be no one to complain to about their misfortune.

Thus, the closest position to Daybreak Mountain was occupied only by five teams, each hovering mid-air at the mountainside, maintaining a certain distance from each other.

The five teams seemed to be in a subtle standoff, but the faces of all their members looked grim.

Among them was the Greatsword Team, the same team that had tried to seize ownership of Jian Tea House the previous day.

"Tch— Who the hell leaked the information?! If I find out who it was, I'll cut them down into minced meat with my sword!"

A burly man from the Greatsword Team gritted his teeth in rage.

He had always been hot-tempered, and right now, his spiritual energy was surging wildly.

More than anything, the embarrassment from the previous day still haunted him.

'Damn it! If I hadn't let my guard down back then and fallen for that storyteller's trick—! The next time I see him, I'll make sure to get my revenge!'

At the front of their team, a tall, imposing man stood silently, his head slightly lowered in thought.

After a moment, he shook his head.

"The truth was bound to come out eventually… Now that the Soulblade Specter's existence is exposed, it might actually be for the best. The stalemate in Daybreak Mountain was bound to end sooner or later."

He cast his gaze toward the rugged mountain terrain ahead, partially veiled by spiritual plants.

Then, his eyes subtly swept over the distant crowd of spectators before he murmured:

"The longer we delay, the more unforeseen variables may arise. If another team enters the fray—or worse, if a mid-stage Nascent Soul cultivator appears—then we might truly lose our chance at claiming the Soulblade Specter."

Even as he spoke, the tall, imposing man couldn't shake the uneasy feeling lingering in his heart.

His mind drifted back to the woman he had encountered at the inn yesterday…

There was no doubt in his mind—she was a peak master from the Sword Sect.

He had fought against Sword Sect cultivators before, and he was well-acquainted with their unique sword aura.

So, upon realizing her identity—and knowing that she was here for the Soulblade Specter—he had deliberately revealed her presence.

If the news that a Sword Sect peak master was participating in the battle for the Soulblade Specter reached the other teams, someone would surely lose their patience and make a move first…

However, he hadn't expected that after just one night, even he himself was feeling restless.

'That Sword Sect peak master is most likely only at the early-stage Nascent Soul Realm. Otherwise, given the combat strength of a Sword Sect sword cultivator, she would have been able to subdue the Soulblade Specter single-handedly and leave safely—without needing any assistance…'

The tall, imposing man silently calculated the power dynamics between all the competing forces.

At this moment, his team still had a solid chance of securing the Soulblade Specter.

And for now, that Sword Sect peak master had yet to arrive…

BOOM!

A thunderous explosion suddenly shook the air!

All five teams—including the Greatsword Team—along with the spectators in the distance, were momentarily stunned.

There was no lightning, no flashing bolts, yet a terrifying thunderclap erupted from thin air, echoing across heaven and earth like the wrath of a divine tribulation, shaking the souls of all who heard it.

"W-what just happened?"

"Thunder? But there's not even a single storm cloud— Could this be some kind of sonic technique?"

"Wait—Listen! Something else is happening!"

The crowd fell into momentary chaos, voices rising in confusion—until suddenly, all the noise was silenced.

Underneath the rolling thunder, a gentle melody began to rise, soft yet overwhelming, drowning out every other sound between heaven and earth.

The beautiful music flowed continuously, weaving into a serene melody, spreading outward on the wind, reaching the ears of all present. It calmed their restless hearts, bringing a deep, indescribable tranquility.

As if drawn by an unseen force, all eyes instinctively turned toward the source of the music.

There—above Daybreak Mountain, beyond the five opposing teams—stood a man and a woman, having somehow appeared in the air unnoticed.

That place was the true starting line of the battle for the Soulblade Specter.

A breathtakingly beautiful woman, her face partially obscured by a delicate veil, lightly held the hand of a strikingly handsome young man dressed in flowing white robes.

They moved gracefully, stepping forward as if walking upon invisible steps, entering everyone's line of sight.

The melody gradually faded, and the picture-perfect pair came to a halt before the five assembled teams.

In the young man's hand, a seven-stringed guqin, glowing like blood-colored glass, shimmered as it transformed into a small, rotating cube in his palm.

At that very moment, the sunlight struck them perfectly, casting their figures into brilliance, making them the undisputed center of attention.

They were, of course, Ling Shuangxue and Luo Wusheng.

<+>

"Sir…"

A soft voice, laced with hesitation, reached Luo Wusheng's ears through a voice transmission.

With a gentle smile, he tightened his grip slightly on the hand he was holding.

"Don't worry. Leave this to me."

Ling Shuangxue gazed at him with her beautiful, quiet eyes, studying him for a moment before finally nodding.

Then, their hands parted.

Ling Shuangxue's figure disappeared, her aura vanishing into the mountain range behind them.

Only Luo Wusheng remained, bathed in the golden light, standing alone.

He glanced down at the hand that had just separated from hers, a faint, unreadable smile flickering on his lips.

But soon, he brushed aside any lingering thoughts and turned his gaze forward.

Before him, the five teams that had previously been locked in a tense standoff were now all staring at him instead.

Luo Wusheng smirked, his tone shifting into something playful and exaggerated.

"Let me guess what you're all thinking right now…"

His voice carried through the air, enhanced by his spiritual energy, reaching every corner of the battlefield.

"Ah, finally! Someone lost their patience and made the first move!"

"Now we just have to wait for the Soulblade Specter to unleash its Soul Shattering Sword. Once we confirm its location, we can swoop in and capture it while it's immobilized!"

"Of course, we need to restrain the other teams first—especially this fool who made himself the center of attention, along with his accomplice!"

Luo Wusheng chuckled. "Not a bad plan, and look at that—someone's already making a move."

At that moment, a muscular brute wielding a greatsword suddenly lunged at Luo Wusheng, swinging his weapon straight at him!

But just as the blade came crashing down—

Luo Wusheng casually tilted his body, dodging the strike effortlessly.

'Hmm, this one seems more like a personal grudge, doesn't it?'

Even as he mused to himself, his palm struck out lightly—but not toward the brute.

Instead, his hand met another greatsword, stopping it in its tracks.

A second figure had appeared—a brawny yet composed man, his muscles taut as he gripped his sword. His expression was calm, showing no surprise at Luo Wusheng's counter.

"As I said yesterday," the man spoke in a strong, unwavering voice, "I will suppress my cultivation and fight you at your level."

He prepared to shake his sword and knock Luo Wusheng back—

But in that very instant—

Luo Wusheng's hand subtly shifted, his fingers lightly tapping against the man's blade.

And as his lips curled into a mischievous smirk, a new shift in the battle had already begun.
