Chapter 333 - Chapter 333: As If Something Important Was Lost

Chapter 333: As If Something Important Was Lost

Luo Wusheng, emerging from the dissipating dust, did not respond to the chicken Netherkin opposite him.

As the dust settled, it revealed the young man's handsome face, along with the hollow void in his left eye and the eerie markings floating at the corner of it.

Behind him, the vague shadow of a pitch-black, deep eye appeared, adding a mysterious aura to him.

After sending the Netherkin a mocking smile full of provocation, Luo Wusheng seemed completely indifferent as he first turned his gaze behind him.

The attack from the chicken Netherkin just now had been truly astonishing.

The nineteen Nascent Soul cultivators from Sword Province, who had previously been barely holding their own in battle, were now all wounded, nearly all of them gravely injured.

Even the red-faced man with mid-stage Nascent Soul cultivation looked somewhat pale at this moment.

Though his injuries were relatively lighter, it seemed he would be unable to move for a while.

And this was with Luo Wusheng having shared some of the burden for them.

(The Buddhist Golden Body shattered immediately… Fortunately, the actual power of that strike wasn't too strong. The truly terrifying part was its ability to shake the soul, preventing them from forming proper defenses…)

Had he not acted in time, using his modified Buddhist Golden Body to create a simple protective golden light over the Nascent Soul cultivators, someone would have likely perished already.

(The Buddhist Golden Body won't recover anytime soon, but that's not the real issue…)

As Luo Wusheng carefully recalled the details of his plan, he felt a bit helpless.

His preparations had been nearly complete, but before he could even test them, he was forced into action by these Nascent Souls, who had almost gotten themselves killed.

Sigh… After all, they had unknowingly helped him by drawing fire for so long; he couldn't just stand by and watch them die in a foreign land.

Though these thoughts flickered through his mind, Luo Wusheng's expression remained calm.

His gaze swept over the still-shaken Nascent Soul cultivators who were looking at him, then shifted further away—to where a large crowd of low-level cultivators from Qifeng City stood, their legs weak and their faces filled with uncertainty.

These recently arrived low-level cultivators were utterly dumbfounded.

They had come expecting to witness Nascent Soul masters effortlessly exterminating the black mist Netherkin.

Yet, when they arrived, the towering black mist giant was nowhere to be seen—replaced instead by a chicken… or was it a turtle Netherkin?

Whatever it was, this bizarre-looking Netherkin's strength was truly terrifying, especially its last attack…

Watching the Nascent Soul cultivators being struck down and heavily wounded one by one, these low-level cultivators felt their hearts trembling.

Before coming, they had never imagined that the human Nascent Souls could lose.

The biggest danger they had anticipated was merely avoiding the collateral damage from the battle.

But if the Netherkin won…

With such overwhelming power, crushing them would be no harder than crushing ants.

Some had considered running, but in the presence of a Nascent Soul cultivator, where could they possibly flee?

"What on earth is that Netherkin? How could such a terrifying being enter the heart of our Immortal Nation? Could it be that the Netherkin Extermination Operation in the Royal City failed to completely eradicate them…?"

"Even so many Nascent Soul masters have been defeated—what do we do now? I don't want to meet the god of death just yet!"

"Is that person who suddenly appeared one of our human experts? Does anyone recognize him? Can he slay that terrifying Netherkin?"

"His clothing looks familiar… I think I saw him in the city before…"

"I heard what that Netherkin said just now. That person seems to be the rising Demon Sect Holy Saint from the Royal City, but— but he's only at the peak of the Golden Core Realm!"

Any hope that had just begun to rise among the crowd was instantly swallowed by despair.

. . . . . .

Manager Ji stared at the Demon Sect Holy Saint floating in the air.

Luo Wusheng turned his head back indifferently, his cold gaze landing on him.

For some reason, the stance that Luo Wusheng displayed at this moment made Manager Ji inexplicably irritable.

An ominous premonition lingered in its heart.

(Impossible—- Even if he has reached the Nascent Soul Realm, he is still nothing more than an ant to me. If it weren't for the strange artifact on my back restraining me, forcing me to divert my focus to counter its pull on the Ancient Phoenix Essence, these weak human cultivators would have long perished under my claws…)

But now, it had significantly reduced the black pot's interference.

Given how the commotion caused by the black pot had been steadily decreasing, it was undoubtedly reaching its limit.

The situation was developing entirely in its favor.

The magical artifact in the Demon Sect Holy Saint's hands did indeed give off a faint sense of danger.

Perhaps an ordinary mid-stage Nascent Soul cultivator would fall under its power, but killing it was nothing but a fool's dream.

Thinking this, Manager Ji quickly suppressed its unwarranted thoughts, replacing them with a cold snort.

"Hmph, so what if you managed to block part of my attack for them? It's just delaying the inevitable. Once I suppress you, killing them will be no different than before!"

Though it spoke these words, it did not immediately make a move.

Luo Wusheng's calm and composed demeanor made it hesitant.

No matter. It had already reached this point—waiting until the cursed pot's influence was completely removed before acting would only make victory even more certain, reducing the risk of unforeseen setbacks.

At that moment, Luo Wusheng gently raised his hand.

The Phantomless 2.0 Artifact in his grip began to flow and shift.

Manager Ji immediately tensed up in alert, but Luo Wusheng's voice drifted over.

"—Aren't you curious why I was able to see through your scheme?"

Manager Ji was startled.

It was confused—its disguise had been seamless, so how had it been exposed? How had this Demon Sect Holy Saint even set up an ambush here?

"Did you really think that I discovered your presence by mere coincidence? That you were simply careless and accidentally revealed a 'chicken's foot' to me?"

Luo Wusheng took a step forward into the void.

A towering, sky-piercing blade condensed in his hand.

The surge of terrifying spiritual energy, accompanied by an echoing voice in the air, made Manager Ji's heart tremble slightly.

In its current state, it could not afford to take a direct hit from this strike.

Its face turned grim as it gathered its nether energy, its blood-red eyes fixed unwaveringly on Luo Wusheng.

"What exactly are you trying to say?"

Manager Ji's voice grew inexplicably deep.

Luo Wusheng smirked.

"I'm saying that from the very beginning, I have understood everything—not just your scheme, but the Netherkin race's entire plan…"

"You should know what that means, don't you?"

The monstrous blade, as if reaching into the clouds, came crashing down upon Manager Ji's body.

At that moment, the ominous premonition in Manager Ji's heart swelled to its absolute peak.

Something wasn't right…

Where have things gone wrong?

Just as it was pondering this, it suddenly felt an immense weight pressing down on its body.

In its wide, stunned eyes, the cursed black pot on its back expanded once more, unleashing an overwhelming suction force.

At that moment, it felt as if something crucial had been ripped away from it—along with that wretched black pot.

And the devastating attack it had been guarding against…

Never even landed on its body.
