Author's POV
Lucien didn't know what to do.
Seraphina wasn't in her right mind and needed a tranquil space to rest, and staying in the car was absolutely not an option.
He couldn't even take her inside like this. She'd be angry again for showing himself in front of her mother and Melissa.
And he couldn't be the reason for that.
"Sera…" he said, his voice low as he brushed a hand over her hair, trying to take all her pain away from her. "Should I… take you to my place?"
She didn't respond. Just looked straight in his eyes, her lips parted like she wanted to say something, but nothing came out.
Her body was trembling, like she didn't even know where she was anymore.
Lucien's chest tightened. He didn't want to leave her like this, and dragging her away without a word would only make things worse.
With a sigh, he slipped his phone from his pocket and quickly typed a message with a clenched jaw.
'Come out. Now.'
That was all the message said.
It was from Lucien.
