Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Where Did My Dragon Go?

"This is not normal, how is this possible?" said Daigo, Raizo's father, pacing back and forth with a look of confusion.

"Did we make a mistake during the inspection?" Daigo continued, unable to hide his anxiety.

Sakura, Raizo's mother, tried to calm her husband. "Dear, I bathe Raizo every day. How could Raizo be a girl?" Sakura replied reassuringly.

"Then, where's the proof?" Daigo challenged, his tone questioning.

Without hesitation, Sakura approached Raizo and quickly pulled down his pants.

"What?! A... cave?" Sakura was stunned by what she saw.

Raizo looked down and glanced between his legs in disbelief. "What? Where's my... dragon?" he thought, utterly confused.

Daigo, who also took a look, froze for a moment before mumbling, "So... he's really a girl now?"

Raizo felt dizzy from the shocking realization. "Don't tell me, is the effect of the Miranda skin changing my gender too?" he thought, still in denial about the drastic change in his body.

Sakura looked at her husband with a puzzled expression. "Dear, could it be that the skin really changed Raizo's body?"

Daigo scratched his head, baffled. "No way... As far as I know, a skin only adds abilities or changes the combat body, not the actual gender!"

Raizo almost burst into tears, realizing that he had truly become the harem itself.

"Mom, is there any document from my birth that proves I am a boy?" Raizo asked, clinging to a shred of hope.

"A document like that? Does it even exist?" Sakura replied, looking confused.

"Why would the hospital record the gender of a newborn? Usually, they just note the parents' names and the child's name, sometimes with a photo. Other records are handled by the government during the skin awakening to avoid administrative hassle," Daigo answered, shaking his head.

Raizo sighed heavily. "Why is the government so lazy when it comes to recording gender at birth? If there's no document, how do I prove that I was born male?"

"Maybe there's a baby photo of me without clothes?" Raizo asked hopefully.

"Even if we have it, do you think the government would believe you with your current appearance?" Daigo replied, dousing Raizo's hopes with cold logic.

Raizo looked defeated. "So, what should I do now?"

He then noticed his mom writing something on the biodata form he had just received.

"Mom, what are you writing?" Raizo asked curiously.

Sakura showed the note she had added:

"Sorry, my child may have made a mistake while filling out the data. The actual name should be Raisa."

"Huh? Mom, what are you doing?" Raizo exclaimed, horrified at the idea of becoming Raisa.

"Well, we don't have much choice. This is the simplest way to avoid drawing attention. It's not uncommon for children to misspell their names," Sakura replied calmly.

"Oh, good idea! Now we have a daughter," Daigo said nonchalantly, continuing to read his newspaper and sip his coffee as if the issue was resolved.

"No! This isn't right!" Raisa protested.

"Alright then, prove that you're a boy right now," Sakura challenged, crossing her arms.

Raisa froze. What? Who? Where? What just happened?

Feeling helpless, Raisa quietly retreated to her room, sulking in the corner.

Because Raisa had been in her room for too long, her mom knocked on the door.

"Raisa, come eat before it gets cold."

"Mom, I'm Raizo."

"Okay, pretty Raizo, hurry up and eat. Who knows, maybe your dragon will grow back," Sakura replied cheerfully.

Raisa stepped out, her eyes red and puffy as if she'd just been crying.

In his previous life, Raizo had never actually used his "dragon." Now, in this new life, he wondered if the dragon had left him out of disappointment.

Holding onto the slim hope that it might grow back, Raisa ate heartily, which made both Daigo and Sakura happy.

"Alright, since you've awakened your skin, it's time to enroll in elementary school," Sakura announced.

"Oh, good thing we haven't bought the school uniform yet. Otherwise, we'd have to buy it again," Daigo added.

"Huh? Why would you buy it again?" Raisa asked, puzzled.

"Of course, to buy the girls' school uniform. The boys' uniform is blue with shorts, while the girls' is pink with a short skirt," Sakura explained.

"A skirt?!" Raisa shuddered at the thought, unable to believe it.

"Sorry, Raisa. If it doesn't grow back by tonight, we'll have to buy you the girls' uniform," Daigo said with a resigned look.

All night long, Raisa prayed for her dragon to return until she eventually fell asleep. Unfortunately, when morning came, the dragon was still nowhere to be found.

It was still just a cave with soft pink walls, which made it difficult for Raisa to relieve herself. In the end, she had to ask her mom for help.

That afternoon, she went shopping with her dad to buy a school uniform. Resigned to her fate, Raisa wore the pink outfit with a skirt.

In addition to the uniform, Sakura also bought several everyday clothes for girls. Since Raisa was only eight, most of them were cute and adorable outfits.

Raisa firmly refused at first, but she couldn't win against her mom's stern attitude. Reluctantly, she tried on various cute clothes. With her short hair, she looked like a tomboyish girl.

The next day, Raisa went to register at the nearest elementary school with her parents, carrying a document and some records.

With the updated document, Raizo's identity was officially changed to Raisa, crushing her hopes even further. Now, the world saw her as a girl, and even her parents had accepted it.

She rarely made friends because of her mature mindset, so not many kids wanted to befriend her.

After the registration, they went back home. Lost in thought, Raisa opened her PC, hoping to find a MOBA game similar to Goddess MOBA. Unfortunately, in this world, there were no MOBA games at all—most games were either MMORPGs or brain teasers.

Since she didn't enjoy those types of games, Raisa instead spent her time browsing forums and social media filled with photos of various skins.

The first awakening indeed required assistance from another person to channel energy.

For the next awakening, however, an individual needed to possess at least 2-star energy. Stars represented a unit of energy that directly correlated with the number of skins.

In other words, if someone had 10-star energy, they could have 10 skins.

There were many ways to increase energy, including absorbing energy from defeated monsters, meditating, using alchemical potions, absorbing gemstones, and more.
