Chapter 1 - The Theory that I Will Stake Everything On

A rush of water from the shuttle's ceiling rushed at me like a small wave of energy as it came to a stop right in front of me. I quickly activated a white button on my black watch that was on my right wrist. As soon as I did, a blue barrier was generated around my entire body, which caused all the water to be pushed back as soon as it was going to contact my body.

Then the doors to the transport slid open and I walked onto the ship with a great amount of urgency behind every step because I knew that I did not want to be late for my presentation at the local branch Tervor Tech. This is a university that was founded to gather the most advanced minds in The Terran Collective and The Vordonian Empire so that the alliance that was made possible by the hero of our people Trent Drakose the highest-ranking specialist in Terran history. It was because of his great deeds that The Terran Collective was able to make peace with the Vordonian Empire for the first time in the three hundred wars that our races were at war with each other.

I was a teacher at that school. My field of expertise is in the field of ancient technologies. My classes had become less and less occupied with every passing semester because of how much of the teachers thought that my theories were just the ranting of a madman.

If my presentation today went well, I was supposed to get a fully funded expedition to an ancient ruin to prove my theory. That is why I was in such a hurry to arrive at the school.

The shuttle started to move before I could sit down in one of the vacant chairs that was against either of the walls, which made me fall on my face, and my glasses slid off my nose.

As I tried to look around the floor for my glasses, everything became fuzzy, which was to tell where I was or what was around me. While I was searching for them, I accidently grabbed onto something that felt muscular and hairy with my left hand. With my right hand, I had found my glasses.

When I put them on, I noticed that I had accidently grabbed onto the hairy legs of a bulky man who had a stare that told me that I had messed with the wrong person today. He was missing a bunch of his teeth, and he spit onto the front of my face as he began to rant at me.

"What do you think that you doing grabbing me like that? I did say that you could invade mu personal space with the stench of your presence." This man said to me with an expression that made his face look inhuman by how it seemed to wrinkle like the face of an old dog as he was ranting at me.

I wiped the spit away from my face and rose to my feet after getting my briefcase. I bowed to him and then apologized for my clumsiness. The reason I did this was because when I looked at his shirt, there was a logo of two swords that were crossed with each other. This meant that he was a member of the warrior caste, and he outranked me since I was a member of the trainer caste.

Then I went into a spare chair that was at least twenty feet from that guy because I did want to get there without any more trouble.

As I had finally set down, a female ai voice came on over the intercom, which caught all my attention.

"We are about to reach Tervor Tech. All the passengers that are getting please line up at the door to ensure yourself a swift exit. Thank you for traveling with us at P.T.C."

After the female Ai had finished speaking, I walked to the door of the ship and noticed that there were three other people getting off. The first person was a female Terran that had on the clothes of the crafter caste with two columns of pockets meant for tools. She was wearing a pair of heavy-duty blue jeans. The second person was a middle-aged man who had on a three-piece light brown business suit. That told me he was most likely a teacher in the business or political course. The final person was a young man no older than seventeen in a set of healer robes. He had short and thick black hair with totally blinded eyes.

When the transport stopped moving, I activated my energy bubble again so that I would be shielded from the pouring rain until I got into the building where I was holding my lecture.

As the door, I began to move in swift motion, ignoring everyone that was around me since getting there on time was of great importance to the future state of my theory.

I noticed that the energy bubble was starting to weaken, and cracks were started around me. The cracks caused some to rain to make it onto my clothes before I made it into the correct building.

Then I deactivated the barrier so that I could recharge enough for me to be able to use it again when I headed back home after I got done with my presentation today.

On the inside of this building, the floors were made out of white tiles. The walls were made of hard wood that was metal reinforced. There were four floors of classrooms. On each floor, they held class that were relevant to the year of your education.

I made my way to the stairs and walked up to the third floor where my class was held. I saw a small group of students and a few men in military uniforms standing outside of the door waiting for me to arrive.

When I showed up and opened the door, everyone else came inside behind me, and I saw that they all took their seats inside the lecture hall.

While everyone was sitting down, I made it to the front of the lecture hall so that I could prepare the presentation. Somehow, I knew deep down inside of my soul that this lecture would have a massive impact on my career and possibly my entire life. This meant that I had to get this right if I ever wanted to do more with my talent, then just teach a small group of people that still thought that I was no insane with my theories.

I set up everything and began my lecture with a great deal of determination behind my steps.

"Hello everyone, welcome to the final lecture that I will be presenting on my theory. For those who have not heard my theory before, I will explain it to you all one final time." I said to the audience that larger than had expected to see.

I activated the first slide of my presentation when I clicked the button of the clicker that was on my podium.

The first was of a person that was in an octopus like a shell. The shell was blue, and there were two holes around the area of the eyes. All of this was on a table in a ruin of The Ancient Osdronian Dynasty.

"My theory is that the citizens of The Ancient Osdronian Dynasty are not all gone that they found a way to transfer their minds in robotic bodies that are identical to the one that you just saw."

Then I changed to the next slide. This screen now showed a massive facility of containers that contained matched the same being that was seen on the last slide.

"There are loads of sites just like this one, all of the galaxy hidden inside the worlds where this ancient race used to live in this galaxy."

After I had explained the theory that I would stake my entire reputation on I continued to talk to them all about all the things that our race could possibly learn from the ruins of The Ancient Osdronian Dynasty.

As I wrapped up the presentation, I saw that there were only two Vordonians and five Terrans left in the room. They all came down to shake my hand and thanked me for the presentation.

When the students all left, I started to pack up all the items that I used in the presentation, but before I saw a group of five bald men that each were wearing three-piece suit that was entirely black.

"Interesting theory that you have about what has happened to those fish people. If you want to get help in proving it, my employer would want to meet you and discuss the terms of the contact that he wants you to sign to receive his help in proving your theories ". The bald man that was in the front of the group said to me.

I chose to ignore him because there was no way that anyone wanted to possibly fund an expedition to prove my theories.

While I was walking past them, the leader of the group grabbed me by the shoulder and began to speak in a very serious tone.

"Are you not tired of being the laughing stock of your community? Do you not want to prove to the galaxy that you are just as intelligent as the rest of them, if not more? If you choose to leave this room, my employer will find someone to achieve what it is that you had refused to do for him."

I turned around and looked at him, not sure if I would choose to believe him and risk it all or if I would allow this opportunity to pass me by.
