Lucas cupped Kyan's cheeks, his thumbs brushing lightly over his skin.
"I swear… the moment I first saw you, I was done for," he murmured, voice low, almost shaky.
But before Kyan could react, the sound of approaching footsteps echoed down the hall.
Lucas's eyes flashed toward the door, his grip loosening instantly.
He pulled his hands away and straightened up like nothing had happened, his face sliding back into its usual mask.
Lucas waved one of the guards over, his voice low but firm.
"Make sure he's comfortable," he said, still keeping his eyes on Kyan. "Give him food, water—anything he needs."
The guard nodded and hurried off to follow orders.
Kyan just sat there, confused.
No matter what was happening around him, his mind could only circle back to Nico.

Where's he?
Is he safe?
Is he… thinking about me too?
Kyan slowly pushed himself up from the cold floor, every muscle in his body screaming in protest.
