Chapter 12 - Chapter12 Under house arrest

Hannah instinctively let go of her hands and stepped aside.

Mia lost her balance and squatted on the ground, still clutching her stomach. Tears filled her eyes as she looked at Lambert, who had appeared just in time, filled with gratitude.

Ethan helped her up, and she quickly stood next to Lambert, finding peace only when she was by his side.

"What do you want?" Lambert asked William, staring at him with cold eyes, his kingly aura pressing down on everyone, making it hard for them to breathe.

"Lambert, I just wanted to talk to Mia about some family matters. Nothing major. I shouldn't have troubled you. Why didn't you tell me you were coming over? I could have had the servants prepare a meal," William said with a fake grin, trying to flatter Lambert, showing no authority.

He knew very well that Lambert didn't take the Garcia Family seriously.

"I informed you beforehand, but I didn't know you were treating Mia like this behind closed doors," Lambert said gently, calling her by her name.

He placed his hand over Mia's small hand, giving her a sense of security.

"Do you want QIY shares?" Lambert asked, each word striking directly at William's inner desires.

Of course, he wanted them. Who doesn't love money?

QIY was in Mia's hands, and sooner or later, it would end up in the Wenshte Family's pockets. That was the Garcia Family's property.

"Lambert, what are you saying? We're family, there's no need to be so formal. QIY belongs to the Wenshte Group, right? All my assets will be Mia's in the future," William said, implying that since Mia was Lambert's wife, Lambert should just take QIY from her instead of bothering him.

"Good, then remember this. If you make things difficult for Mia again..."

Everyone held their breath, waiting for him to say what would happen next.

Lambert waved his hand, and Ethan grabbed Hannah, slapping her across the face several times without saying a word. Hannah's cheek immediately swelled up.

Julie covered her mouth, too scared to scream, watching helplessly as her daughter was slapped.

"Mr. Wenshte, this is a misunderstanding! Uncle William, you need to stand up for me! It was you who told me to act this way! I've learned my lesson from last time, I didn't dare hurt my sister," Hannah cried, utterly distressed, feeling like the scapegoat.

"Let's go," Lambert said, satisfied, and he placed Mia on a wheelchair, pushing her away.

"Brother," Jonathan followed them, explaining, "I couldn't stop it. I'm not like you, with your authority. I failed to protect Mia."

"Jonathan, when you do bad things, be careful, it might come back to haunt you," Lambert warned him, surprisingly kindly.

Jonathan seized the opportunity, grabbing the wheelchair from Mia's hands and pushing Lambert forward. He walked a few steps ahead, then leaned down and whispered in Lambert's ear: "Brother, we're the real family. Ms. Jennifer is so concerned about Mia and the child in her belly because she wants to take your place after the child is born, and she wants full control of the Wenshte Group. Ms. Jennifer still holds shares."

Lambert was fully aware of Jennifer's schemes.

But with his grandfather in the hospital, desperately hoping to see the family's fourth generation, he had no choice but to let Jennifer hold some leverage.

"Brother, we should work together to take Jennifer's shares back into the Wenshte Group so you can secure your position as president," Jonathan said, thinking he was being clever.

"That's right. But that means you and Uncle William will have to work harder." Lambert showed no interest in Jonathan's proposal.

Jonathan, being the fool he was, took this as an opportunity to feel proud, thinking he had pulled off a clever plan.

Ethan lifted the wheelchair into the car, and the vehicle sped away.

"Lower QIY's stock price," Lambert said as he twirled his phone in his long fingers, giving orders to a subordinate on the other end of the line.

Wenshte Group had long since placed his people inside, and he knew Jennifer's every move in the company. Taking control of Wenshte Group wasn't going to be easy.

"Don't do this, QIY was left to me by my mom," Mia said, gripping Lambert's arm. When he looked at her with confusion, she mouthed the words silently.

"Ha," Lambert sneered. "I gave it to you, but can you keep it?"

Yes, she couldn't. If Lambert hadn't arrived in time, the shares in her hands would have been taken by Hannah and her son.

"Please, Lambert, don't crush QIY. I won't cause you any more trouble. I promise," Mia's lips trembled as tears welled in her eyes.

"Don't pretend to be pitiful in front of me. QIY will fall into my hands sooner rather than later," Lambert said coldly, pushing Mia away. His expression was frosty as his voice drove her further down into despair.

"Ah!" She cried out desperately, the sound sharp and grating, making Lambert's ears hurt.

He disliked that sound, and he hated it even more when Mia went against his wishes.

His hand shot up, grabbing her chin with such force that it felt like her bones might break.

"I don't like your annoying voice. You have no right to control anything I do. In two months, when the child is born, we'll divorce. After that, you can be with whoever you want, but I warn you, during these two months, behave and stay away from your lover." His sudden outburst of anger seemed pointless.

Lambert reached into Mia's bag, pulled out her phone, and threw it out the window in one smooth motion, giving her no chance to react.

Divorce?

Those words struck Mia like a thunderbolt, hitting her heart with brutal force. When she married Lambert, she had hoped to grow old with him.

But to him, she was just a vessel to bear children.

She shook her head frantically, tears streaming down her face. This wasn't the outcome she had hoped for.

But all she received in response was Lambert's indifference.

Back at the villa, Lambert ordered that she not leave the premises again and had two servants watch over her. She had lost all freedom.

When Jennifer heard the news, she rushed to Lambert's villa to visit Mia, bringing high-quality supplements.

"Did you contact Daniel secretly, and Lambert found out?" Jennifer asked patiently, knowing how important the child in Mia's belly was to her plan.

"I won't buy you a new phone for now, but don't worry. Lambert won't hurt you. After a while, I'll find the right moment to get you out. Just remember, don't make Lambert unhappy," Jennifer advised.

If she tried to take Mia out now, it would not only raise Lambert's suspicions but also cause doubts from the outside world. At that point, it would be a loss on all sides.
