Chapter 17 - Chapter17 All shares are transferred

Hannah stepped out of the hotel and took a taxi straight back to the Garcia Family villa. It was already 7:30 PM, and William and Julie were waiting for her to return before they could have dinner, which showed her superior status in the family compared to Mia.

"Uncle William, do you know about my sister being sick and hospitalized? How about we make some fish soup and take it to her?" Hannah suggested as she sat at the dining table. "After all, she's your daughter. If Garcia Family wants to build a good relationship with the Wenshte Family, Mia is crucial. There was a huge misunderstanding last time, and we haven't had a chance to clear it up. This is a perfect opportunity."

Julie joined in, putting a piece of meat into William's bowl with a smile. "Hannah makes a good point. Last time, you were too impulsive. Why not talk things over calmly? Mia is someone who responds better to kindness than force. If you want to move forward with QIY, it really depends on the Wenshte Family's attitude."

"Hmph, look at her—does she even care about me as her father? Last time, she must've sent a message to Lambert for help. Her real goal is the shares I hold." William slammed his chopsticks down in anger. "She wants me to visit her in the hospital? Dream on. If she's unfilial, then don't blame me for being a heartless father."

"That's no way to speak. After all, we're family," Julie responded gently. "When you go today, just bring the share transfer papers with you. We'll figure out how to get her to sign them."

"Madam, the fish soup is ready," a servant came out of the kitchen and placed a lunchbox beside Julie.

"Get ready quickly. The soup will cool down and won't taste as good. We'll wait for you in the car," Julie urged William as he headed upstairs to change clothes, and she walked out with Hannah.

In the car, Julie took out a packet of pills from her bag and poured all of them into the fish soup. "When we get to the hospital, let William feed it to Mia. If anything happens, it won't be our responsibility. I'm his lawful wife. Even if the Wenshte Family puts him in jail, the inheritance will be transferred to me. It's a perfect two-birds-with-one-stone plan, Hannah."

Hannah's eyes lit up, and she tightened the lid of the lunchbox. "I'll give it to him when he arrives. No one will be able to trace this back to us."

—The malicious mother and daughter duo.

The night was dark, and the streetlights seemed dimmer than usual. Soon, the number of vehicles on the road dwindled, and everything seemed perfectly aligned.

Two full hours later, William's family finally arrived at the hospital. Led by a nurse, they came to Mia's room, where two burly guards stood in front of the door.

"This is going to be tricky, Mom," Hannah whispered to Julie, her face changing when she saw the scene.

William walked ahead, arrogantly stating, "I'm here to see my daughter."

The guards blocked his way. "The madam has ordered that no one may approach the young lady without her permission."

"I'm her father. I'm here to see my own daughter. Do I need anyone's approval?" William said furiously, feeling insulted.

"The madam said no one is allowed," one of the guards stepped forward.

Julie quickly approached, speaking softly, "With you guarding the door, nothing will happen. Besides, we're in a hospital. If you have any concerns, we've brought fish soup for our daughter. You can taste it first if you suspect anything."

The fish soup contained abortion pills, which wouldn't affect a normal person.

"The madam is the madam, but the young lady is still under Lambert's protection, isn't she? If Lambert were here, he'd definitely let us in," Julie mentioned Lambert's name.

The two guards exchanged a glance, clearly conflicted. Lambert had never made his position clear, and they didn't know whose side to take.

But the madam hadn't specified anything about keeping the Garcia Family away, so there probably wouldn't be any issues.

"Just hurry up. Don't disturb the young lady's rest," one of the men stepped aside.

Julie nodded in acknowledgment. "We'll be quick. We won't cause any trouble."

The door opened, waking Mia. She blinked in pain from the harsh light, quickly closing her eyes, but when she opened them again, two hands were firmly covering her mouth.

"Mia, I heard you're in the hospital. Your father and I rushed here to see you, and we brought you some fish soup. You should drink it; it's good for both you and the baby," Julie said loudly from the door, deliberately speaking for the benefit of the people outside.

Hannah was the one holding her mouth, and though Mia couldn't speak, she was still making muffled sounds of resistance. To avoid any unforeseen circumstances, they had made sure all possible outcomes were eliminated.

William sat at the bedside and pulled out the share transfer papers, forcing a pen into Mia's hand.

Whispering in her ear, William spat, "If you sign this, you'll still be my good daughter. Otherwise, I'll sever all ties with you."

Mia opened her hands but refused to take the pen. She shook her head frantically, her eyes filled with tears as she looked at William, pleading silently for mercy.

"Last time, I only wanted 10% of the shares, and you called Lambert to defend you. He retaliated and caused huge losses for QIY. As compensation, today I want 50% of your shares," William said coldly.

He forced her hand, flipping the share transfer papers and writing her name at the bottom.

"I'll adopt a child, make a will, and leave all my property to them when I'm gone. You, my unfilial daughter, will get nothing from QIY. This contract not only covers your shares, but all the property under your name is now mine. Let's see what you have left to resist me," William sneered, showing a cruel smile as he spoke softly to Mia.

Tears streamed down her face. She desperately flailed her arms, trying to snatch the papers back from William, but he had already stepped back too far.

In a last-ditch effort, Mia yanked at Hannah, causing her to crash into the nightstand, knocking a vase onto the floor with a sharp crash.

"Ah, Mia, why are you being so careless? It's fine, I'll serve you another bowl and let your father feed it to you," Julie quickly responded, dismissing the guards' suspicion.

The men at the door glanced inside. Hannah was tucking Mia in, Julie was tidying up the nightstand, and William was sitting at the bedside with a bowl. Everything seemed normal.

"Please hurry. It's late, and the young lady needs her rest."

"We're almost done," Julie responded, and the man closed the door behind him.

"Hannah, pinch her nose and make sure she drinks it all."
