Unlike Giovanni and the others who sought to destroy the world, Guzma had founded Team Skull simply to overthrow the island challenge system and the rule of the Kahunas.
"Why are you here?" Gladion asked warily, having heard rumors about Team Skull.
Guzma rolled his eyes, arms crossed as he leaned against the wall, "Why the hell shouldn't I be here?"
Professor Kukui stepped in, "Alright, alright, none of that matters now. What matters is what we do next."
Guzma snorted, "Alola is Team Skull's turf. If they want to conquer this world, they'll have to get through me first!"
Gladion thought to himself that Guzma's ragtag group couldn't even compare to a single toe of the enemy's forces, but he kept quiet, knowing Guzma might snap if provoked.
Instead, he turned to Kukui, "Professor, what should we do now?"
Kukui fiddled with his wrist communicator while saying, "Alola's entire network has been hijacked. But don't worry, I've contacted other Leagues using my private channel. Help is on the way."
"By the time they get here, Alola will probably be completely overrun," Guzma said, tossing his jacket over his shoulder without looking back, "Better to rely on ourselves."

~Ultra Space~
Caleb locked onto the direction of the Ultra Deep Sea, mounted Zapdos, and dove down with Mew2.
Strangely, Cyrus and Dialga just stood there, watching. They didn't pursue.
Caleb didn't believe for a second Cyrus would let him go so easily. But without Solgaleo, there was no way out of Ultra Space anyway...
The sensation of weightlessness spread through his body.
The Ultra Deep Sea wasn't an ocean made of water in the literal sense, but a magical space composed of special energy, resembling the sea.
As they descended, the ambient light shifted from azure to deep indigo. Sound vanished. Even light began to fade.
Dappled rays from above made the space feel like a real seabed. Yet somehow, humans could still breathe here.
Near the 'seabed', Caleb finally spotted Solgaleo, though motionless.
But just then, the energy ocean around them rippled with a strange wave. Immediately after, a behemoth floated out from the ripples.
Its body was silver-white, with purple vertical patterns on its shoulders connecting to its chest and extending down to the tip of its tail. That was the Spatial Pokémon, Palkia...
Cyrus stepped out from behind Palkia, expressionless. In his hand was a purple and white Poké Ball with an 'M' emblem. It was a Master Ball.
"The Master Ball, a Poké Ball that can capture any Pokémon," Cyrus stated in an emotionless tone, then used the ball to capture Solgaleo. He looked up at Caleb and added, "I'm sorry, but you're not leaving yet."
"Where is Giovanni's Mewtwo?" Caleb asked, scanning the area.
Cyrus blinked, then saw the corner of Caleb's mouth curl into a smirk.
In the next instant, Caleb's body erupted with brilliant green light. He had activated the Viridian Power at max output, syncing his consciousness with Mew2's.
Brilliant green energy flooded the space. Mew2 glowed with nature's power.
"Still not giving up?" Cyrus asked.
Caleb didn't answer. Instead, Mew2 shot skyward, then in a flare of white light, Mega Evolved into Y Form.
Cyrus watched, then murmured, "Is this your answer?" He turned to Caleb, "I feel your resolve. And I will not lose. Dialga, Palkia, crush it!"
At his command, Dialga materialized from its Poké Ball.
The Spatial Pokémon and the Temporal Pokémon crossed paths as they flew into the air.
Reality warped as Roar of Time and Spacial Rend erupted toward Mewtwo from both sides.
Caleb stayed calm. Through the Viridian link, he saw through Mewtwo's eyes and felt its thoughts. In perfect sync, they moved as one.
"Teleport behind Dialga!" Caleb shouted mentally.
Mew2 vanished, reappearing behind Dialga in less than a tenth of a second.
"Psystrike!" Caleb commanded.
Mega Mewtwo Y was one of the most powerful Pokémon in existence. Its special attack stat was unmatched.
Psystrike, a move only Mewtwo could use, maximized its psychic firepower. At point-blank range, Dialga had no chance to dodge.
The blast hit its head like a nuclear strike. Dialga roared in pain and fury.
"Freeze it in time!" Cyrus shouted.
"Don't give it a chance! Teleport, headshot, Psystrike again!" Caleb ordered.
Normally, Pokémon need to hear a full command before reacting. Only those with deep bonds can act before the command is finished.
But Caleb and Mew2 were beyond that. This wasn't turn-based combat. He didn't need to wait for the opponent to finish speaking.
Mega Mewtwo Y's speed was absurd.
Therefore, after one successful hit, the second attack instantly followed, interrupting Dialga's move.
Mew2 flickered around Dialga like a phantom, too fast for Palkia who was nearby to target.
Finally, after another Psystrike, Dialga's body plummeted downward, unable to battle.
Cyrus's emotionless face finally showed shock, "H–how is that possible?! How are you so fast?!"
"Only a Mewtwo can beat a Mewtwo," Caleb said.
The only opponent he truly feared was Giovanni's Mega Mewtwo.
Without type advantages, Psychic-types dominate. Teleportation and psychic control make them nearly untouchable; especially Mega Mewtwo Y, whose speed and power are unmatched.
With another mental command, Mew2 appeared beside Cyrus.
Psychic energy coiled, ready to tear him apart, but suddenly, Caleb's instincts screamed.
A blast of freezing air surged from behind.
Zapdos shrieked a warning, lunging in front of Caleb. Ice fog swept over the Electric bird, instantly freezing it into a statue.
From the shadows emerged Ghetsis with Kyurem hovering behind him.
He glanced at Cyrus's disheveled state and smirked, "Still struggling? In this situation, all you need to do is kill the trainer. Problem solved."
