Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: War for the Crown – The Final Battle Begins

Imperial Crown Bunker – 5:00 AM

The alarms blared like a relentless death march.

Outside, Adrian's army closed in, armored vehicles rumbling through the streets like the sound of an empire crumbling under its own weight.

Selina stood tall at the command center, her face pale but eyes burning like twin torches against the darkness. Her trembling fingers tightened into fists as she watched the surveillance feeds—Adrian's forces were everywhere.

Damian stood beside her, his face pale from blood loss, but his back as straight as steel. His hand found hers beneath the command table, squeezing gently.

She had come too far to fall now. This wasn't just a fight for survival. It was a fight for the future of their son, for every silent tear and every sleepless night she'd endured.

Hope and despair warred inside her chest like two titans locked in an endless battle, neither willing to concede defeat.

Adrian stood before a digital map, his lips curved into a cold, satisfied smile.

"Let them prepare," he sneered. "By dawn, the Lu Empire will fall… and I will rise."

He turned to his men, his eyes filled with ruthless ambition.

"No survivors."

Damian swayed slightly on his feet, blood soaking through his bandages, but his voice was firm.

"Activate Protocol Zero."

Selina's eyes widened.

"That's a suicide plan!"

Damian turned to her, his lips pale but his gaze burning with unwavering resolve.

"If we're going down, we take them with us."

Selina's heart twisted painfully. She had finally found him again, only to face losing him all over.

But deep down, she knew—if they didn't fight to the last breath, there would be nothing left worth saving.

Her heart felt like a fragile porcelain vase balanced on the edge of a cliff—one wrong move, and everything she held dear would shatter beyond repair.

The countdown began.

"10… 9… 8…"

Selina turned to Damian, her eyes glistening with unshed tears.

"If we don't survive this…"

Damian leaned in, his forehead resting gently against hers.

"We will. Together."

"3… 2… 1…"

The screen went black.

A deafening explosion rocked the entire city.
