Blazar turned to face him, her eyes searching his face with growing curiosity. "Why do you ask?"
"You can't expect me to believe Orion is your real name." He paused, letting the words hang between them. "I am pretty sure your registration forms were forged. You're not from the Spade family. They never had a young child."
Blazar's hands fidgeted in her lap, fingers twisting together as she realized there was no point in lying anymore.
She nodded slowly, the movement barely visible. "My real name is Blazar."
Vesper repeated it softly, his voice caressing each syllable. "Blazar." He rolled the name around on his tongue as if tasting fine wine, his lips forming the sounds with careful attention.
A small smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. "Nice name."
Something warm bloomed in her chest at his approval, but it was quickly followed by another question.
"Did Kaelric give you that name?"
