The dew still clung to the grass when Kael stepped into the glade near Crescent Cliffs. The training posts were damp, but the air was crisp and smelled of pine and damp stone. Birds chirped lazily above. The glade was mostly empty, except for Serana already stretching in the center.
"You are here early," she said, not turning.
Kael smirked. "So are you."
She glanced over her shoulder. "I wanted space. And silence."
"Perfect. I came to ruin it."
Serana turned fully, arching a brow. "With your charming personality, I assume?"
Kael rolled his shoulders and drew his training blade. "You are rusty. Thought I should help."
She tilted her head. "Oh? Did the great Alpha heir just challenge me to a duel?"
He grinned faintly. "Unless you are scared."
Serana snorted. "Scared you will embarrass yourself? Always."
