Sienna's POV
The power inside me was like nothing I'd ever felt before. I could feel everything—every shadow creature, every heartbeat, every drop of blood. I could feel Kieran's wounds, Ronan's tiredness, Caius's fear.
I burned the darkness away with a thought. It was so easy now. Too easy.
Something was forming in the middle of the ritual site—a swirling mass of darkness taking shape. The god of destruction, trying to break through.
"I don't think so," I whispered, stepping forward.
The darkness pulled back, as if shocked. Then it spoke—not with words, but with feelings that pushed into my mind.
You are not ready.
"Ready or not," I answered, "here I come."
I reached out with my new power, grabbing the darkness. It fought against my grip, but I held tight. This was what Lyra had prepared me for. This was my fate.
