Chapter 2 - Chapter 82: Pure, Unfiltered Versailles Energy

"So that's how it is? That's a shame. But don't worry—I remember you mentioned you live in Heaven Dou Imperial City, right? Once I get back from Spirit Hall City, I'll come visit you there."

Zhao Ling's face was full of sincere smiles, so much so that Liu Erlong felt her cheeks heat up.

She definitely didn't believe Zhao Ling wanted to visit her just to "hang out." This guy clearly had his eyes on her and was trying to pursue her.

As expected, he's still that same shameless perv who wants to build a warm and cozy family with every beautiful woman on the continent. Ugh, how shameless…

Meanwhile, after Bibi Dong had dragged Ah Yin a bit further away, she shot her an annoyed glare.

"What is going on with you? Fine, calling me 'sister' every day I can deal with, but now you're dragging her in as a 'sister' too? You used to compete with me constantly for Zhao Ling's affection, and now you're practically trying to share him with the world?"

Faced with Bibi Dong's irritated questioning, Ah Yin put on a tragic expression, like she was wearing a mask of pain.

"I didn't have a choice! Every night when my husband comes back to the room, he just wants to mess with me! I've begged you so many times to let him go 'mess with you' for once, but you still won't agree!

I seriously can't take it anymore. Sister Dong'er, do you even know what I've been through this past week? If I'd known, I wouldn't have dug my own grave! Waaahhh, I'm so miserable…"

"…"

For a moment, Bibi Dong was speechless. Ah Yin's reasoning was just… absurd.

She'd heard of oxen being worked to death, but she had never heard of a field being plowed to ruin.

So what if Zhao Ling was a Titled Douluo? Even with the supposed three-times enhanced body constitution that came with the title, just how "durable" could he be? She was convinced Ah Yin was being overly dramatic.

"Ah Yin, I can let go of the past, but please don't do anything so ridiculous again. I know you love Zhao Ling a lot, but we have to think about our own happiness too.

If he keeps adding women to his harem, aren't we just going to be left with cold, empty beds in the future? You really should think this through."

After finishing, Bibi Dong patted Ah Yin's shoulder gently, speaking with heartfelt seriousness.

"I don't care! Not unless you let my husband into your room tonight! I need a proper night's rest."

Ah Yin shook her head like a rattle drum. She was done. At this point, an empty bed sounded way more blissful than her husband constantly pestering her.

She hadn't had a proper night's sleep in days—it was downright inhumane!

Other people came to the Great Spirit Arena to watch matches—she came to catch up on sleep. The chaotic noise around her couldn't even interrupt her desperate need to rest.

"Okay, okay, stop flexing already. Ah Yin, it's not like I've rejected him repeatedly without reason. I just have my own concerns.

If Zhao Ling manages to win my teacher's approval and she allows us to be together, I promise I won't say no."

Bibi Dong once again patted her shoulder, a trace of envy flashing in her eyes.

Over the past week, she'd seen how, every time they came to the Spirit Arena, Ah Yin would immediately fall asleep in Zhao Ling's arms. Clearly, she wasn't getting enough sleep at night.

But in Bibi Dong's eyes, falling asleep in the arms of such a strong, handsome man every day was its own kind of happiness. Most women couldn't even dream of that.

And now Ah Yin was pulling a pitiful face, acting like she was suffering? Wasn't this just classic, pure Versailles-style humble bragging?

Ah Yin saw the envy in Bibi Dong's eyes and was speechless. She really had been suffering lately, but Bibi Dong still looked at her with envy and jealousy—it was ridiculous!

Yes, intimacy with her husband was a wonderful thing… but only in moderation! When your man was clinging to you every single night, it stopped being a pleasure and turned into torture.

After thinking it over, Ah Yin decided: tonight, there was no way she'd let her husband into her room. She had to stand her ground.

She'd say they were setting off for a long journey tomorrow and she needed proper rest. Surely her husband would understand that? He wouldn't get mad… right?

Or…

Ah Yin's gaze drifted toward Liu Erlong, who was still standing with Zhao Ling. Maybe it was time for her husband to strike while the iron was hot and finally take Erlong?

The only question is… will Erlong agree?

With that devilish thought in her head, Ah Yin flashed a mischievous grin and ran straight toward Zhao Ling and Liu Erlong, completely ignoring Bibi Dong beside her.

"Honey~ Since we're leaving for Spirit Hall City tomorrow with Sister Dong'er's convoy, why don't you take Erlong out for a stroll today? She did save us once, after all."

Without waiting for a reply, Ah Yin shoved the two of them toward the Spirit Arena exit.

"Go on, go on!"

Once they reached the gates, Ah Yin grabbed Liu Erlong's hand and spoke gently but firmly:

"Erlong, let my husband spend some time with you today, okay? I can tell—you're interested in him too. Don't deny it. I have a great eye for these things.

And I can tell from how he's been acting—he's definitely interested in you too. So please, don't turn him down."

Liu Erlong was completely stunned by Ah Yin's words.

Yes, in the Douluo Continent, it was normal for men to have multiple wives. Her own father, for example, had a wife and son in the clan, and yet had her and her mother outside the family.

Because her mother's status was too low, the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan never accepted her. So Liu Erlong was effectively a secret, an illegitimate daughter. It was an unspoken truth in the clan.

As for kings and emperors, they had more wives than you could count.

Zhao Ling, being a Titled Douluo at just 31 years old, could marry not just three or four wives—dozens wouldn't be out of the question, as long as he could support them.

But normally, women married to the same man only pretended to be "sisters." In reality, they fought fiercely—openly and behind the scenes.

Ah Yin, however, was doing the exact opposite—encouraging her, in public, to be with her husband.

Was her heart really that big?

Or… was that "triple constitution buff" of Zhao Ling's just that terrifyingly powerful?

Zhao Ling could only smile bitterly too.

If not for the fact that just a short while ago, Ah Yin was still fighting with Bibi Dong for his affection, he'd start to wonder if she ever really liked him in the first place.

Lately she'd been acting way too strange. He was blatantly flirting with Bibi Dong right in front of her, and not only did she not get mad, she kept assigning him "missions."

If he didn't flirt with Liu Erlong, didn't go shopping with her, didn't buy her snacks, clothes, and shoes—then Ah Yin wouldn't let him into her bed.

It was utterly unheard of. He'd never seen anything like it.

Back when he first met Liu Erlong, he had thought she was very beautiful and had definitely been tempted—but he'd kept those feelings well hidden. No one should've seen through him.

And yet somehow, Ah Yin had seen through everything. It was baffling.

Sigh… Zhao Ling let out a long sigh and took Liu Erlong's hand, leading her out into the bustling streets.

He had no choice. His wife had given him a task—and whether he got into her room tonight would depend on how well he completed it…
