Chapter 9 - Chapter 89 – Why Is This Girl Blushing?

On the second morning after arriving in Spirit Hall City, Zhao Ling had just woken up and found the stunning beauty still asleep in his arms.

He couldn't help but lower his head and kiss her red lips. He even wanted to mess with her a bit more, but a knock came from the door.

"Knock knock knock..."

Zhao Ling carefully got out of bed and softly called toward the door,"Who is it? Do you need something?"

Not long after, Bibi Dong's gentle voice came from outside,"Brother Ling, it's me. Teacher asked me to bring you to meet him."

"Alright, give me a moment."

Responding to Bibi Dong, Zhao Ling quickly put on his clothes. Then, he gently woke Ah Yin and kissed her between the brows.

Ah Yin had been ravished fiercely by Zhao Ling the previous night, and had barely slept for two hours.

Now, being shaken awake again, she was initially annoyed and about to lash out—until Zhao Ling planted a kiss on her forehead, instantly extinguishing her anger.

His gentle voice rang in her ears:"Yin'er dear, I'm going with Dong'er to see the Pope. You stay here and rest. If you run into any danger, use the Rainstorm Pear Blossom Needle I gave you."

Previously, Zhao Ling had gifted her the Rainstorm Pear Blossom Needle, but since she didn't have a soul tool for storage, it had been kept in his own storage space.

On the way to Spirit Hall City, Zhao Ling and his party had attended an auction. Seeing a bracelet-type storage soul tool being auctioned, Zhao Ling spent 50,000 to buy one for Ah Yin.

Now, Ah Yin could store her personal items in it, including the Rainstorm Pear Blossom Needle.

Though the bracelet's storage capacity was only fifteen cubic meters—dwarfed by Zhao Ling's own space, and even smaller than the legendary "Twenty-Four Moonlit Bridges" from the original story—Ah Yin loved it dearly. When she received the bracelet, she showered Zhao Ling's cheek with kisses so much it almost swelled up.

Now half-asleep, Ah Yin nodded and lazily mumbled,"Okay, hubby... I'm so sleepy, I'll just rest…"

Before she could even finish, her quiet snores returned. It seemed she really had been exhausted last night.

Zhao Ling shrugged, quickly washed up, and left the room.

Seeing the stunning girl standing at the door, he didn't even hesitate—he just leaned in and kissed her lips.

After all, just like Ah Yin, this girl had willingly thrown herself into his arms. If he didn't take advantage every now and then, wouldn't that be a loss?

After kissing Bibi Dong, Zhao Ling asked her with a probing tone:"Dong'er, your teacher didn't make things difficult for you yesterday, right? If he did, just tell me. Even if I can't defeat the entire Spirit Hall, I can still knock a few of his teeth out."

"N-no, he didn't give me any trouble. A-and..." Bibi Dong blushed deeply, remembering what her teacher had told her yesterday.

"And what? Why are you blushing? You didn't blush like this when you were throwing yourself at me before."

Zhao Ling was puzzled. He hadn't said anything weird—why was this girl's face so red? It didn't make sense.

With her face flushed, Bibi Dong lowered her head shyly, nervously intertwining her fingers.

"My teacher said... he wants to personally pick a date for our engagement. And... and he hopes that in the future, if we have children, we could at least leave one in Spirit Hall."

"What? What did you say?" Zhao Ling was stunned. Overwhelmed by the shocking news, he immediately opened his diary to vent.

[Diary Entry]:

Holy crap?! What the hell? Dong'er just said that old bastard Qian Xunji wants to arrange an engagement between me and her?!

Is there something wrong with my ears—or is it Qian Xunji who's lost his damn mind?

I was all ready to have a serious talk with Dong'er about Spirit Hall—and now she drops this bombshell on me?!

Looks like my transmigration into the Douluo world is causing some serious butterfly effects.

Dong'er no longer likes Yu Xiaogang. And Qian Xunji won't imprison her anymore for that reason. Maybe this means she can avoid that awful fate.

That's definitely good for Dong'er... but this also means Qian Renxue might never be born.

Sigh… Honestly, after Ah Yin became my wife and Tang San can't be born anymore, I'm thrilled about that.

But Qian Renxue was such a beautiful and talented girl… it's a pity if she doesn't exist.

Still, the best thing is that Dong'er won't be defiled by Qian Xunji. As for whether Qian Renxue appears—that's up to fate.

After finishing his rant, Zhao Ling clicked "upload" on the diary and received a Mystic-Grade Low-Tier Magic Tool: Cloudpiercer Shuttle.

According to the description, it was an aerial vessel capable of flying about 3,000 li (~1,500 km) per day. Although much slower than airplanes from his previous world, it was far faster than the carriages and boats of Douluo Continent.

Just traveling from Soto City to Spirit Hall City by carriage had taken five or six days. If he had owned this Cloudpiercer Shuttle before, it would've taken just over a day.

However, the shuttle needed power to fly. It came with a spirit-gathering formation, so it could recharge while idle—but extremely slowly.

So ideally, it should be powered by spirit stones. With enough stones, it would be the most efficient mode of transport in all of Douluo.

Unfortunately, Douluo Continent didn't seem to have any spirit stones. He could only hope for future system rewards.

Zhao Ling felt a bit annoyed:"This system is so stingy. Why give me the shuttle and not a few hundred spirit stones to go with it?"

After silently cursing the system, Zhao Ling wrapped his arm around Bibi Dong's slender waist and smiled.

"Let's go. Your teacher is probably already waiting. Since he's being so kind to us, we should at least show some courtesy."

"Mm..." Bibi Dong nodded and snuggled into his embrace as they walked downstairs.

At the same time, her beautiful eyes glanced at the phantom-like Replica of Zhao Ling's Diary in front of her, flipping mentally to the latest entries.

She remembered seeing the name Qian Renxue in earlier diary entries—supposedly her and her teacher's daughter.

Now that this child might never be born, Bibi Dong felt complicated emotions.

But she had no choice. She only wanted to give herself to someone she loved. The idea of being defiled by her teacher and giving birth to that child—she simply couldn't accept it.
