Chapter 1 - Prologue

"Kevin, no!"

20 seconds ago, they were resting in one of the temporary shelters after defeating all the one-spikes. The stronger ones were up to Taz and Leo to defeat, but there were currently no signs of life around the shelter. Suddenly, a thick red line sliced the shelter in half, along with the soldier Kevin. Everyone went outside to see what was happening, forcefully pushing the grief to the back of their brains to focus on defending against whatever just released the attack. Alice's newly tamed Deathbat was lying on the ground, dead. Whatever had killed it didn't even care to take out the crystal.

Eventually, they saw a man coming towards them. His eyes were glowing red, but except from that he looked like a role model for a fashion company, with his near perfect facial features and body. When he spoke, his voice was deep and commanding.

"Forget everything happened after you went here. Head back to Earth and report that you found a King tier beast upon arrival and had to retreat."

Every member of the group robotically went to the main shelter and through the portal. All except two.

"37, what do we do now!" whispered Jet "Why are the others listening to him!"

Maeve glanced at the man, unsure of what to do. She picked up her sword to try fight whatever the man was. However at that moment, the man also had his eyes on her.

"It seems we have some strong-willed ones. Not just one, but two. What to do, what to do..."

The man was pacing back and forth as the two people left were watching. Afraid, Jet tried to sneak away. The man instantly snapped his head in Jet's direction, as if he could sense any movement apart from himself.

"Ugh, I don't wanna deal with you." The man complained "You know what? They wouldn't care about a missing person or two."

Before Maeve could process what that meant, her head was on the ground.
