Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Hatred. A world filled with hatred, a world full of chaos. Children serving evil, adults are drowning in responsibilities, the elderly are sexually immoral, and every person in despair. Hope has dimmed all around the world, people have been waiting for years for that hope, their savior—to help them, save them from all the suffering, but in four thousand years… Nobody came.

I Introduce you to the world of Largaf. A planet that is all over the place and was messed up really bad.

Due to the King of the Everlands, a king of misery, the world befallen unto his hands. His dominant attacks and orders made him a feared leader and a person throughout the whole world. Every move he makes comes with a purpose, whether it's for his plan or his enjoyment. King Haylen, driven by revenge and despair for an unknown reason, strives to make the world suffer. Making people turn against each other, and fight off each other, in other words, using human pride and anger to its full extent. After years of trying to destroy the world, now, he is reaching the final step of his plan.

And I also introduce you to Maic. He has long brown hair, almost like a girl. His body is frail, yet it's hard. Maic is special, wanna know why? It's because he is a slave. His mind is all over the place, he has been a slave all his life, and he doesn't even know what a phone is or anything at all, just pure innocence.

And Maic is now at the Everlands, the enemy territory, the evil people that turned other people from happy to dead in an instant. Maic is serving them whether he likes it or not, his contract was for life after all.

***

'... I hate everything. I'm just like those people from Demura, hopeless and chained.'

Maic mumbled quietly.

'Does it have to be me? I don't want to see all of them anymore…'

He fell butt first to the ground as he began to cry, covering his eyes with his hand.

'Somebody… Save me…!'

Helpless thoughts flooded his mind in despair.

Suddenly, somebody shouted for all the slaves to gather at the camp. Maic was immediately alerted and sat up in an instant, wiping off his tears before running towards the sound.

'That's right… No one here is a savior, only a survivor.'

He thought as he arrived at the slave camp where all the slaves gathered and slept. A flat rocky ground that's full of dirt and feces. A cruel place indeed, but there was nothing he could do other than to live with it. The slaves gathered up in lines in an instant, showing their experience with this daily routine.

And regularly, it's all the same. You do a great job, you get nothing. You make a slight mistake, suffering.

Maic went back to work for the whole day, his whole body aching. But he cannot falter, otherwise, the guard watching them will kill them. Endless and tireless work died down at night, as they were given a 1 hour break.

Maic looked at the moon while he sat down at the same tree in the afternoon. The forest hums as the cold breeze hits. It was peaceful, but only for an hour. Maic wanted this moment to last forever, "Peace…" He thought.

"I want it."

He tiredly thought.

"And rest. Rest as well."

He sadly sat there, alone, and tired.

A voice suddenly spoke behind the tree.

"What's on your mind?"

Maic helplessly looked behind his shoulder, not wanting anything from the man who spoke. His playful and teasing tone kinda ticked him off, causing a slight snarl in his face.

"Not a great day, huh?"

"Always was... Aren't you too cheerful to be a slave?"

A wild black-haired slave appears, and he swiftly sits beside Maic.

"Can't be grumpy all the time, right?"

"... Don't want to argue with you."

He grunts as he moves farther from the black-haired kid.

"Come on, why are you grumpy?"

He moves closer.

"Leave me alone."

He moved farther.

The black-haired kid gritted his teeth.

"Gah! Why won't you sit beside me?"

"Because you're loud and annoying, that's what."

"Why are you so persistent? I just want to be friends with you!"

"I don't think being friends in this environment helps."

"Yes, it does! You're the only one out of all the others that isn't my friend, aren't you embarrassed?"

Maic stood silent for a while, he looked at him with ill intent in his eyes as he sighed.

"Being friends with you doesn't benefit me. Besides, if I did become friends with you, I don't think that would solve all the problems here."

He stood up after speaking and walked off. Before he was stopped by a deal, a benefit he would gain.

"How about I help you get out?"

Maic's eyes widened a bit as he turned around, but it wasn't in surprise, it was out of fear.

"... Outrageous. Even if you did have a plan, in the end, we are still kids. Us kids can't do anything to them, there's no fighting chance. So no, I won't be your friend even with that offer."

Maic's voice stuttered as he spoke out. He fidgeted and continued to walk away.

He fidgeted as he walked, thinking, 'I want to get out of this place… But it all just seems impossible. I'm powerless. Useless.'

But then, for a moment it felt like time stopped, light but at the same time heavy steps were near Maic.

His eyes widened, and he crouched down and covered his head. He thought the guards were finally coming because they were out of bounds, they were supposed to be at the camp and in the camp only.

But somebody grabbed his hands and dragged him backward. Maic saw that just in front of him was a horde full of guards and the one who grabbed him was the loud and annoying slave he had met earlier.

"Get back up to your feet, you're too heavy!"

He screamed out while grunting.

"Let me go! Trying to escape is bad, they will kill us!"

"Yeah, but if they caught us they are gonna torture us! That's worse than dying, think about it, you idiot!"

Maic's body was trembling, just by the thought of death and torture sent shivers down his spine. He does not move. He is stuck in place.

"Hey, it's no time to be scared! Because of you, we might fail!"

We had reached the beach, and plenty of free ships were on shore and ready to sail.

"Lucky!"

He muttered while Maic trembled as he looked at the guards closing in on them. He closed his eyes, his mind in shambles.

They soon got near the ship, the black-haired kid threw Maic at the ship as he jumped gracefully to the ship.

He ran towards the engine system and sweat started dripping down, he didn't understand any of it.

He started pressing random buttons and the ship went backwards, turned to the left, went forward, backward repeatedly. The kid looked out, and some guards were climbing to the ship.

"Hey push them out!"

He screamed out to Maic. He helplessly looked at the guards and he wobbly stood up and ran towards the incoming guards. He peeked out at Maic, panicking. But Maic was slowly getting there, the guards were about to get on board.

He decided to guess which button to press then suddenly, he felt the ship going forward with his feet. With that information, he rushed over to the guards.

Maic tripped and pushed out a guard with him, he reached out as he fell and the kid caught

Maic just in time. He lifted Maic back up to the ship and the other guards fell with the guard.

"You idiot!"

He punched Maic back to his senses.

"Scaredy cat, if I didn't rush here in time you would've died!"

He grabbed Maic's torn-up shirt with all his might, his face heating up and his forearms growing bigger.

Maic went silent, staring at him. His eyes widen and his sweat drips down. He looked away, his face now serious, and gritting his teeth.

The black hair kid went silent for a while as well, his brows furrowing even more.

"... Guess you're just all talk. You talk smart and logical. But is that all you're capable of?"

Maic gritted his teeth as his face turned serious and dark.

"It's your fault for expecting something big from someone that you just met. I admit, I'm a coward. But I can't help it, I was born like this. And if I wanted to change, it would not be easy. Don't think I'm the same as you."

He went quiet, staring into Maic's eyes with pure anger.

They stared at each other's eyes with hostile intentions, before he let go of Maic's shirt and stood up.

"You may be right. You are not the same as me. But that doesn't mean you can whine and whine all day. Do something about it."

He looked down at Maic with pure frustration in his eyes, his fists clenching.

"Is that arrogance that I hear?"

Sarcastically, Maic shot back.

He walked away, going to the near end of the ship. He was looking at the night in the ocean, the

ocean breeze hitting him. Maic sat there, still pissed. He stood up and walked over to him.

The nights seem peaceful now that they've escaped. But, a lingering feeling of uneasiness was still there. Uneasy, Maic called out to him.

"Look, I'm sorry. But do you also-"

"Don't come any closer."

Startled by his sudden command, he stepped back instinctively. Confused, he asked.

"What's wrong? Did you see anything out there?"

"No. Could you not come near me yet? Stay on the other side of the ship."

"Are you still angry? I'm trying to make up for this."

"I'm not. Just do what I told you to do."

Maic is suspicious of his actions, he glared at his back.

"I won't until you state your reasoning."

"Still persistent, huh?"

Maic stood silently, waiting for his question to be answered.

"... Even with your level magic, He can still detect us."

"Who?"

He looked back at Maic, with his bangs going to the side, his eyes serious.

"The King."

****

At the castle of Everlands, a lowly servant came to report the news to The King. The servant arrived at the room after sprinting there, a bright red door, with some gold snakes and a

diamond dragon design on the door.

He looked at the intimidating presence of the room flowing out of the door. He seemed hesitant but did his job anyway. He slowly knocked three times, his knocks echoing in the halls. The night dimmed the hallways, everything looked haunted. Then, the doors opened. A big smoke

flowed out, the room was dark and foggy, and he couldn't see anything.

But when the fog started to clear up, the dark room contained a normal bedroom of royalty. A big bed, a big window, and some stuff for clothes. But oddly enough, there was a big table there in the middle of the room.

The servant started sweating profusely, he was confused about why he was sweating so much.

But when the fog fully cleared up, he saw a man sitting in the shadows just in the middle of the room where the table was. The table was full of papers, pens, pictures, a camera, and other stuff.

Now he knows why he started sweating randomly because of that man. The man spoke out, clearing the silence.

"You have my permission to speak."

His voice deep, he spoke formally.

"Your Highness… Two boys have escaped the slave camp…"

Stuttering, he finished delivering that out.

"State their names."

He replied almost instantly. His voice is now slightly aggressive.

"Maic Frontra and Edward Holmes, Your Highness…"

"You have a month to prepare. Kill them or I'll do it myself."

He replied instantly. His voice now pissed.

"Yes… Your Highness."
