"Enough." Kael's deep voice cut through the heavy air like a whip.
The awkward silence that followed was suffocating and then Kael yanked Lilah back gently, growling at Troy.
Lilah turned her head to Kael in confusion. Even without being told, she could tell he was angry. But why? Was he just pretending when he said it was fine before?
Or was there another reason?
Maybe... The sight of her enjoying herself might've been detestable?
Those thoughts sneakily and quietly crept into her mind, but she shook them off as soon as they did. Kael was not like that.
He craved her happiness more than anyone so that wasn't the case.
Then... Why did he sound so angry?
"D-Did I do something wrong?" She was, curious to know the cause.
Kael didn't answer immediately. His piercing gaze was still locked on Troy, who looked like he wanted the floor to swallow him whole. He felt awkward with his huge body shaking up but Ophelia shook her head, her body language telling him not to blame Troy.
