Chapter 2 - The arrival of Eiran Creed

Seven years ago

*Narrator*

All the children had come to welcome their newest arrival , all the children except for Asrik Gray, the little boy who had been at the orphanage since his birth , for him things like this were silly. Why welcome someone to their life's greatest misfortune , children only end up here because, they've lost everything . When they have no parents, nor relatives who are willing to take them in, when they are utterly and completely alone. Every child who ends up here, always arrives in complete despair, crying and screaming, about how there's been a mistake and how their not an orphan or why they don't belong here, in front of the welcome party.

He found it quite funny actually, for one to be crying about such things in front of a 'whole party of orphans', they'd throw such a big tantrum and at the end of the day, everyone would become sad . They'd end up reminding everyone, that they were all pitiful and there current situation was nothing to be proud of , that they had no reason to be happy. And yet, the cycle continues to repeat each time another one arrives, the same as for today, as he stared out the window, as the director's car pulled up, it wasn't a strange thing for the director to bring in a new orphan personally. In fact, it was tradition, for every single orphan brought to the orphanage, to be personally escorted by the director. It was something started by the founder, a man who truly saw the children of the orphanage as his own and even after he passed on, his ways, are still the ways of the orphanage. Asrik had heard that the boy arriving today was quite similar to him, he heard they were of the same age and stature, also, he heard the boy was quite bright. Although, that's not who he was waiting to see today, because today, that little boy they spoke of, would be nothing more than a shell of his former self , lost in despair and denial, the person who had arrived would be nothing more than a broken little boy. Which is why he was frozen in place, as he watched the boy who had gotten down from the car. Eight years old, Eiran Creed, dressed in grey dress trousers, a white button up shirt and a simple grey cardigan, his dark blue eyes, curly brown hair and his emotionlessness facial expression. He got down from the car and as the orphans began to sing the welcome song, he stood there with his arms crossed in complete silence. In fact, it looked as though instead of a performance, this was an audition, like they were singing to gain his favor. The boy slightly tilted his head, before giving them three sound claps, which put an end to their song, if anything Asrik was stunned, anyone would've thought that, that little boy was the directors son, by his behavior, was it that he didn't understand his current predicament or had he just not yet come to terms with it, but with time Asrik learned that, that didn't seem to be the case at all. As Eiran had adapted to the life in the orphanage rather quickly and it seems that what he heard of him was wrong. Calling him, quite bright, did his smarts no justice whatsoever , after taking the entrance exam, everyone could tell that Eiran really was special, as he scored no less than 93% in every paper, even for second graders it was amazing. And yet, there was one thing about him, one problem that overshone his brilliance in everything else, the fact that Eiran had no social skills. Or to put it correctly, had no interest in associating with other people , he never made the effort and declined it when the effort was made by others, through and through he did not wish to associate with anyone. Maybe, that was why Asrik just couldn't keep his eyes off him, because they were the same, because just like him, Asrik despised the thought of associating with the other children from the orphanage.
