Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: TMD, I Transmigrated and Tencent Is Still Chasing Me!

DING! You have defeated an opponent. Material dropped: Chakra (White)DING! You have defeated an opponent. Material dropped: Chakra (White)DING! You have defeated an opponent. Material dropped: Chakra (White)

The voice echoed three times in Seikyū Hikaru's mind before fading.

He stood there stunned, his mind reeling.

"A… system?"

If he wasn't mistaken, the voice meant only one thing—his long-overdue golden finger had finally arrived.

The moment the thought formed, a surge of data flooded his brain like a crashing wave. A sharp pulse of pain stabbed his skull as the information forcibly downloaded itself.

"You okay?"

Kushina's voice tugged him back. She looked at him, concern flickering across her face. After all, he had just flattened her bullies and then frozen mid-thought.

"I'm fine," Hikaru replied with a quick shake of the head.

Now that the influx had passed, he knew it for certain:

His cheat system had arrived.

The reason for his daze had been the sudden transmission of vast amounts of information from the system. But now that it was done…

"Kushina, don't let what they said get to you," he said, offering a smile. "They just don't know how to appreciate beauty. Personally… I think your red hair looks great."

Even with a system in hand, cutting ties with Kushina wasn't in his plans.

If he helped her one moment, then turned cold the next, even a blind man could tell something was off. And with Kushina's identity as the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki, he'd be a fool to think no one was watching.

There might be ANBU tailing her in the shadows. Hell, that geezer Hiruzen could be spying through his crystal ball as they spoke.

Whether anyone was watching or not, Hikaru had no intention of playing dumb.

Besides, he had no issue living off a rich woman. His stomach was delicate—he preferred soft meals.

That said, he couldn't appear too eager. If the higher-ups thought he was approaching Kushina with ulterior motives, he might not live to see next week.

Take the incident where Minato "heroically" saved Kushina. Anyone who believed that was spontaneous was delusional.

The whole thing stank of a setup—Konoha's top brass laying the groundwork to tie Kushina emotionally to the village by pairing her with their golden boy.

Seriously. Three Cloud-nin crossing the border, bypassing Konoha's sensory net, sneaking past the Uchiha Police Force, and successfully kidnapping the Nine-Tails' next host—all without anyone noticing?

And then a ten-year-old Minato just so happens to track them down and beat three Chūnin-level enemies like it's nothing?

Get the hell out of here.

Kakashi only made Jōnin at twelve because he'd been bleeding on missions since he was six. But Minato—what, he was secretly a reincarnated demigod too?

No. Hikaru would bet his life the whole thing was staged by Konoha's higher-ups.

Which meant he had to tread carefully.

He wasn't about to become another pawn on the board.

Kushina flushed crimson, her red hair and red cheeks making her look like a ripe tomato.

"T-Thanks," she mumbled.

"We're classmates. Helping each other is only natural," Hikaru said with an easy smile.

Then he raised his voice to address the whole class.

"Starting today, Uzumaki is under my protection. If I catch anyone bullying her again—don't blame me for being rude."

After that display, no one was eager to argue. The entire class had seen his fists in action—his pretty face wasn't just for show.

His words now carried weight.

Hikaru returned to his seat by the window and finally turned his attention to the thing that had changed everything.

Material Synthesis System

It sounded simple. But even a surface glance told him it was anything but.

Core Functions:

Defeat enemies → Drop Materials

Combine materials → Create Items

Two core mechanics. But within them, layers of depth.

Types of Materials:

Normal Materials: Dropped only by defeating ninja.

Special Materials: Can only be obtained from specific individuals.

Drop rates weren't guaranteed. Sometimes enemies dropped nothing. It was all RNG.

And while normal materials dropped whole, special materials often dropped as fragments—ten needed to make one full material.

That alone made him suspicious.

"Fragment mechanics? Is this thing made by Tencent?! I transmigrated and I'm still getting gacha-hunted by the damn penguin!"

Material Tiers:

White – Genin

Green – Chūnin

Blue – Jōnin

Purple – Kage

Black – Super Kage

Red – Sage of Six Paths

Gold – God Tier

The Chakra (White) drops he'd just received were the lowest possible tier—perfect for Genin-level trash mobs.

Drop rules:

Normal material tier = enemy's strength

Special material tier = randomized from white to gold

So a special material could be worthless junk or god-tier loot. Pure chance.

As expected, not every opponent dropped something. Of the five delinquents he flattened, only three gave him materials.

Synthesis Mechanics:

There were four key rules to combining materials:

All materials must be synthesized to be usable. Synthesized items retain the traits of the original materials and can be further fused. Or used directly.

At least 2 materials required per synthesis. Base success rate: 10% per material. Add more materials (up to 10) to increase success rate to 100%.

Item tier is influenced by material tiers. Mixing white + green usually results in a white-to-green item. But there's a rare chance it could spike to blue or higher.

No world restrictions. Synthesized items can originate from any fictional world. Anything goes.

This… was huge.

And with that, Seikyū Hikaru's true journey had finally begun.
