Chapter 39 - A Sign Of What's To Come

Zeth held his full belly and let out a very loud burp, echoing in the halls he's traversing. He had enjoyed the cafeteria dinner, and now he was making his way back to their room, looking forward to a warm bath and some well-deserved sleep on his soft futon. Wagon beds were uncomfortable and rough, so he was looking forward to sleeping as soon as possible.

He walked down a hallway lined with identical doors. Each one was marked with unfamiliar numbers. Until he realized something wasn't right. It wasn't the way to his room. He stopped at a corner where he was presented with three new hallways to choose from, each leading in a different direction.

The options in front of him left him momentarily confused, scratching the back of his head.

He is lost.

"Damn, how big is this building…"

He muttered to himself, tracing back his steps. But it was no use. In the end, he chose a hallway at random and marched forward, hoping it would somehow lead him back to their room.
