Chapter 259: Dagenham & Redbridge
The brutal League One schedule meant relying on just eleven players would never work. To get through the winter, you needed a full squad.
Away at Dagenham & Redbridge on a freezing, damp Tuesday night, Niels decided it was time to test his depth.
Dev Patel was left out of the starting lineup completely. After the clash in training and the ongoing Valencia rumors, the young winger just needed a night off to clear his head.
Jamal Osei got a rest too, as they were still managing his minutes after his injury.
The team sheet handed to the ref had changes all over the pitch.
Twenty-year-old backup Benji Cook started in goal to give Adam Fletcher a break. The back four was Ellis Flynn, Harry Thompson(C), Darnell Prince, and Callum Haines. Kieron Marsh sat deep in midfield behind Ilyas Kader and Callum Berg.
Up front, Korey Henry and Nate Sutton took the wings, with big Leo Morley playing as the target man.
