Chapter 24 - Chapter 22: The Price of Remembering

As their blows escalated, something horrific became clear:

Every attack erased part of their past.

Each use of power came with a cost.

Cal's father's memory—gone.

Sul's first song—erased.

Moac's awakening—forgotten.

Even Anu, despite his defiance, began to lose.

He blinked. "Where… did I rise from again?"

The Will of the Unchosen spoke:

"To rewrite the future, the past must be sacrificed.

You will remain only if you outlast your meaning."

Vatae Watches

From beyond, Vatae watched silently, galaxy sphere around him pulsing.

Eon, unable to look away, asked:

"What are we watching, truly?"

Vatae smiled.

>"The birth of a new god-idea.

Not chosen. Not defiant.

Balanced."

Seu trembled.

"Then… what are we to it?"

Vatae's smile vanished.

"Memory. You are only what remains... when gods are forgotten."

---

The Memoryless War would decide not just survival, but whether any legacy would remain in the bones of the multiverse.

One must be crowned in truth.

The others—unwritten.
