Chapter 89

I rushed to the rooftop like a mad woman, taking the stairs two at a time. My legs carried me swiftly, fueled by my eagerness to see Hyun Min. As I approached the rooftop door, I slowed my pace, adopting a more deliberate stride. I didn't want to appear too eager, after all.

I creaked the rooftop door open with a gentle push, and I stepped inside. My eyes scanned the rooftop, and my gaze landed on Hyun Min. He stood at the edge, his hands tucked into his pockets, the wind whipping his hair into a frenzy. The sight took my breath away.

I froze, my feet rooted to the spot. Hyun Min's back was to me, but even from this angle, he exuded an undeniable aura. The way the wind danced around him, the set of his shoulders... he was captivating. I felt a strange sense of admiration wash over me, and for a moment, I forgot to breathe.

The contrast between our past encounters and this moment struck me. Just last two weeks, we were at odds, our interactions tense and strained. Yet, here I was, rushing to see him like my life depended on it. Life was full of unexpected twists, and this was certainly one of them. I couldn't help but wonder what the future held for us.

As I stood there, taking in the sight of Hyun Min, I felt a sense of trepidation mixed with excitement.

my eyes drawn to Hyun Min's figure standing at the edge, his hands tucked deep into his pockets. The city skyline stretched out before him like a canvas of endless possibility, the lights twinkling like stars in the evening sky. The wind whipped around us, but I felt a sense of calm wash over me as I gazed at him.

Without thinking, I approached him quietly, my footsteps masked by the wind's howl and the distant hum of the city. I wrapped my arms around him, hugging him from behind, and felt his body stiffen in surprise. But then, he relaxed into my touch, his hands covering mine.

He turned, his eyes locking onto mine, and the world around us melted away. In that moment, I felt a deep connection, a sense of belonging I'd never experienced before.

Hyun Min's arms wrapped around me, I felt the weight of my worries slowly lift, like the ebbing of a tide. The warmth of his body seeped into mine, and I relaxed into his embrace, letting the comfort envelop me like a gentle breeze on a summer day. Time lost all meaning as we stood there, the world around us fading into the background like a watercolor painting in the rain. The city's cacophony of sounds and the wind's gentle whispers became a distant hum, a soothing melody that accompanied the rhythm of our hearts.

Eventually, we pulled back, and Hyun Min's eyes scanned my face with an intensity that made my skin prickle. His gaze was like a gentle touch, yet it probed deep, searching for something hidden beneath the surface. His fingers brushed against my skin as he turned my face, his eyes narrowing in on the red mark from the slap. The memory of the incident flooded back, and my hand instinctively rose to touch the sore spot, a reflexive gesture that betrayed my attempt at nonchalance.

"What happened to your face?" Hyun Min asked, his voice low and laced with concern. The tone was a gentle reprimand, a soft inquiry that belied the intensity of his gaze.

I tried to downplay the situation, to brush it off like a speck of dust on my sleeve. "Oh, it's nothing serious," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. But Hyun Min's expression turned serious,The lines of his face deepened, etched by a fierce protectiveness that made my heart skip a beat. I could almost see the gears turning in his mind, piecing together the events, and I wondered what he would say next, what words would spill forth from the depths of his concern.

His eyebrow shot up, a skeptical arch that seemed to say, "Really?" "You expect me to believe that this is nothing?" he said, his voice laced with incredulity. "I mean this is huge... What exactly do you mean by 'nothing'?" His tone was a perfect blend of curiosity and skepticism.

I panicked, my mind racing for an excuse. I thought frantically, trying to come up with something, anything, that would convince him. And then, a ridiculous idea popped into my head. "Oh, I was just...umh...a persistent fly was buzzing on my face" I said, trying to keep a straight face. "It was really getting on my nerves, so I... Had to slap it away."

Hyun Min's expression remained unreadable, but his voice was tinged with amusement. "You're not exactly known for your... creative storytelling, Sarah," he said, his eyes sparkling with skepticism. "I think you're leaving out a few details."

I felt a surge of defensiveness. "I'm telling the absolute truth!" I protested, trying to sound convincing. " I'm a very... vigorous fly-swatter."

Hyun Min raised an eyebrow. "You'd have to be quite... acrobatic to slap yourself with that much force," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I'm not sure even a professional contortionist could manage that feat."

I glared at him, feeling my face heat up. "That's really what happened, okay? You can believe me or not," I said, trying to sound confident.

But Hyun Min's expression turned serious again. "Sarah, tell me who did this to you," he said, his voice low and gentle, but with an undercurrent of steel. "You don't have to protect them. I'll take care of it."

I shook my head. "No one did anything to me," I said, trying to brush it off.

Hyun Min's hand reached out, his fingers gently caressing the sore spot on my face. The touch sent shivers down my spine, and I felt a lump form in my throat. "I'll find out, you know," he said, his voice soft, but with a hint of determination.
