Chapter 1 - LEX VORTAN

I finally made it into the academy. Three years of hard work paid off, someone yelled from the dormitory.

Now, you stupid system, come out and see who the boss is, Lex Vortan said to no one in particular.

He was an average guy from Earth, but was hit by a truck on his way back from the mall. Then he woke up in this unfamiliar world that was far beyond Earth in technology, and they had even started exploring space and claiming several other galaxies. The other thing was the presence of mana in everyone.

He awakened a system on the first day he arrived, but he could not use any of its functions because of the main quest he was assigned.

 [Name: Lex Vortan]

 [Race: Human]

 [Points:10,000]

 [Shop]

 [Appraisal]

 [Weapon(s): Frostbite blade]

[Quest: Enrol in Echelon Prime Institute. Rewards: 10,000 points, Beginner pack]

Lex's heart pounded as he looked at the glowing interface hovering before him.

Open the beginner pack, he said lightly while taking reins over his emotions.

[Beginner pack opened, contains: 10 basic weapon blueprints, Mana-core integration module(basic), Basic combat drone x3, Lightning coil rifle.]

This is one hell of a gift pack, Lex thought to himself while he examined the resources. He put the lighting coil rifle into his core, a space awakened by everyone in this world, that expands the more mana one has.

Let's see what the shop has to offer, he thought as he snapped his fingers.

Lex saw various things in each of the categories, with their prices hanging in front of them. After checking the shop out very well, he found out that the 10,000 points he was proud of were nothing compared to the price of the goods.

Before he could continue, a voice echoed outside the dormitory.

All new students, head to the combat hall for the ranking match.

I guess I will have to come back to this and go for the ranking match if I don't want to be at the bottom all year round.

The ranking match was used to decide the position and authority of each student in the school, and those who did not participate would have to try again the next year; that was why no student ever looked down on the ranking match, no matter how noble they were.

Lex, a captivating voice, called out to him. Turning around, he saw a girl so beautiful that she would easily become the most beautiful person to ever live back on Earth.

Oh, hey, Vera, Lex said with an awkward smile. Vera was a noble, and her family was almost as powerful as the Vortan family, as they were both among the top three families in the human race. She was meant to be his wife, as his father, the patriarch of the Vortan family, and her father, the patriarch of the Solari family, had married them to each other at a very young age.

Let us go to the combat hall together, she said as she held his hands and dragged him along.
