Chapter 1 - The Reincarnation

What… what is this? Why is it so dark?

The last thing I remember is being shot by police officers while leaving a store in New York City.

Huh. I guess I didn't make it.

Welp, nothing I can do about it now except wait and see what happens after death.

What's this blinding light?

Huh?

A room? Lights? Wait… this house looks old.

What's going on?

Wait—I have hands… and feet? And who is this smoking hot babe holding me?

Wait… holding me?

Have I been reborn? WTF?!

No, no, no—this can't possibly be happening. That only happens in fiction. I must be dreaming.

"Pinch."

Nope—not dreaming.

And gosh, that hurts.

Wait—what do I feel?

My pants are wet… soggy but solid.

Oh no… I'm a baby.

I guess I just pooped.

"Oh, did you poop? We'll get that cleaned up."

"Maids!"

"Yes, my lady?"

"My dear son, Lin Xian, has pooped."

"We will get a new pair of clothes and a fresh undergarment for him right away."

"Yes, please do. And draw a bath for my son too."

"Yes, Lady Lin."

So… my surname is Lin, huh?

I guess I'm not in the United States anymore.

Two days have passed.

I've found out that I'm not on the Earth I knew—

I'm in an entirely alternate timeline.

This world is still called Earth, but it's primitive… and I'm in the land of cultivation: China.

The year? Approximately 2,000,000,000 BC.

Which makes no sense.

We should be cavemen, but we're not.

Then again, I guess being in an alternate timeline changes a lot of things.

I've also learned that my family is a group of immortals—cultivators.

So far, I've just been learning on the sidelines, trying to grasp what's going on.

But there's still one thing that's seriously bothering me:

WTF is this big-ass screen following me around for?!

It's been a month now, and I've found out that the screen following me is actually my system.

It tracks my cultivation progress and gives me points for each stage I go through.

I'm only a month old, and I'm already at the Qi Refining Stage with 2,000 points.

As for this world—I've discovered a lot.

Apparently, this world contains dimensions that exist completely separate from space and time. These dimensions have no concepts at all, which is incredibly difficult to wrap my head around.

Even more insane?

There are dimensions that completely erase laws, concepts, and even cosmological hierarchies—they can even erase immortals.

They erase everything that enters them: past, present, and future.

That's the most I've learned so far about this world…

And honestly? I'm confused and conflicted about how I even got here.

But—I have a loving family that helps and trains me in cultivation.

I've been given a second chance at life.

And I won't waste this opportunity.
