The data on the test report was listed in detail and with clinical precision. Without the background knowledge gleaned from Orochimaru's biological and spiritual experimentation, one would be utterly incapable of parsing it, let alone deciphering it. But for Uchiha Gen, the document was only the beginning.
The evolution of the Sharingan was not a simple matter of genetic mutation or linear progression. Its transformation is inextricably tied to trauma, spiritual pressure, and emotional stimuli things no lab instrument could quantify. The awakening of a tomoe, or a change in ocular potency, did not simply manifest from chakra circulation. He resumed his meditative pose, sitting cross-legged on the bed. He plunged deep into the mental plane, exploring the harmonics of the Sharingan. As noon approached, a flash of inspiration struck.
"Hahaha... I understand now! I've uncovered the secret behind the Sharingan's evolution!"
His eyes flew open, laughter spilling from his lips. The theory was as audacious as it was brilliant.
The chakra needed to evolve the Sharingan referred to by Madara Uchiha himself as dojutsu chakra originates in the visual cortex of the occipital lobe, in the brain's striate area. However, this chakra is not produced automatically. It requires extreme mental stimulation to resonate with the spiritual structure of the soul's corresponding brain region.
Gen dubbed this resonance state as Soul-Striate Synchronization.
During this phenomenon, a unique spiritual wave forms on the soul's version of the occipital lobe completely unlike any chakra fluctuation found in ordinary states. This was the key!
So then came the question could one manually simulate this spiritual frequency to artificially stimulate evolution?
If possible, it meant one could bypass the traditional need for trauma or despair. Gen might be able to evolve his Sharingan with sheer will and control, without sacrificing loved ones or enduring emotional torture like Itachi, Sasuke, or Obito.

It proved that the Mangekyō did not require murder, but rather, despair so deep it cleaves the soul.
Emotion ignited the occipital soul-wave, and the resulting pupil power was the visible evolution of the eye.
But what if the emotion could be replaced with artificial synchronization?
Even techniques like Susanoo, traditionally tied to the Mangekyō, were in truth manifestations of high-level pupil power. With enough control, even Mangekyō-exclusive powers might be simulated albeit at high soul cost.
Gen steadied himself and began the experiment. Four soul clones, dispersed through the underground of the Uchiha estate, returned to his body. This operation required full soul integrity. He had learned from prior experiments with Zhurong and Wusheng that missing even minor soul fragments from the brain region diminished precision.
He targeted the spiritual mirror of his brain's striate region and began to simulate the wave.
The first six attempts failed his soul too unstable, his mind not quiet enough. But on the seventh attempt, the simulation succeeded.
He felt heat surge behind his eyes. Chakra flared from the spiritual occipital lobe and shot through his optic nerves. His eyes burned then cooled then burned again.
The two-tomoe Sharingan in each eye began to rotate violently.
Moments later, the tomoe formed a solid ring and with a flash, a third tomoe appeared in both eyes.
Gen's vision sharpened dramatically.
He leapt off the bed and rushed to a nearby mirror. The iconic triple-tomoe pattern gleamed in his pupils black as ink, perfect in form.
"Hahaha... success! It worked!"
His joy was impossible to contain. He vaulted around the room, did backflips, punched the air in a flurry of movement. He even ran up the wall barefoot, parallel to the ceiling, dismounted with a twist, and launched a flurry of kicks and jabs.
It had worked. His method worked.
If the Three Tomoe Sharingan could be achieved through simulation, then the Mangekyō might also be within reach. And from there, the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan perhaps even the Rinnegan, though that would require the chakra of the Senju or the DNA of the Sage of Six Paths.
Still, he had a foundation. And with the Soul-Soul Fruit, anything seemed possible.
But the cost had been significant.
This experiment alone had drained over two-thirds of the soul energy stored from a thousand people most ordinary, but with a third from trained shinobi. The Sharingan's evolution to three tomoe was already this expensive what of the Mangekyō? The Eternal Mangekyō?
He shuddered.
Still, he had the means. He would simply need to harvest more. Rogue ninja, corrupt merchants, greedy nobles they would serve a purpose. A predator in pursuit of knowledge.
After stabilizing the chakra flow from his new Sharingan, Gen noted the feedback effect. Bloodline limits such as the Sharingan not only enhanced vision, but passively increased chakra capacity after each evolution.
He organized the residual chakra, straightened his room, dressed in a sharp black-and-silver robe, and summoned Zhurong and Wusheng. With the day halfway through and his mood soaring, there was only one destination:
Konoha's most luxurious restaurant.
After all, today was a milestone.
A new future for the Uchiha began today not through death and suffering, but through intellect, soul mastery, and pure, unrelenting ambition.
