The door swung open and there stood her father.
"Dad you're back" She stood up from her bed, walked to her father, she hugged him.
"How was today sweet-heart" Klein pegged her cheek.
A profound smile played on Indie's lips as she withdrew from the hug. She was extremely excited to see her father back from whatever activities he engaged on. He usually came back late at night but she understood as her father was a busy man. Handling several companies, wasn't an easy task.
"Was good, dad" She replied
"You're still awake at this time of the night"
"Why did you came along then?"
"To check up on my daughter, or shouldn't I?"
Her father's face took on a majestic, concerned expression whenever he was worried, she knew she was all he got.
"Okay father, you have seen me and can tell that I'm safe, hope that will guarantee a peaceful sleep?" She teased.
"Yes of course, I will surely have a good night sleep?" Klein stated. On leaving, his gaze fell on the opened books on Indie's study desk, he turned his gaze to Indie.
"I think you have stressed yourself hard enough, sweetheart, you don't have to over work yourself. You need to sleep now"
"Dad, I never said I was awake, besides_"
"What? Don't lie to dad" MR Klein cut her off.
"No dad"
"Anything?"
"I was sleeping, but, but…" She hesitated, struck by the realization that the nightmare she had was half way about to escape her. She found it unnecessary telling her father that she had been having nightmares considering it would sound like a joke to him. It was insane to even talk about it, her nightmare was pretty horrendous.
She had been having those nightmare over a week now, and in each of the dreams she was been chased by something unknown. She only had the glimpse of it's traumatizing face once, it was characterized by absurd features: elongated bar like canine with red eyes, from his mouth dripped a black substance, like... like blood. She couldn't probably tell why, but she felt drawn to the creature as her body protested against her mind, feeling relieved, at the same time, scared.
"Indie" Called Klein, drawing her out of her thought.
"Is there anything wrong?" He asked.
With the expression worn by her father, she could tell he was in an absolute chaos. Considering on breaking it all lose to her father about her nightmare, the awareness that her father would pay no heed, struck her.
"Nothing, can you go already, I'm feeling drowsy" Verily her eyes were already giving up.
"If you're being bothered by anything don't hesitate to tell father, okay?"
Indie responded with a nod
"Goodnight honey" MR Klein kissed her head, and made his way out, swinging the door closed. Indie heaved a sigh and walked back to her bed, there she dropped down, exhausted.
....
Indie sipped her coffee as her gaze fell on her friend, Jennifer, they were done with their casual discussions and with no more topics left to gossip about. They usually spent time here at the most popular cafeteria in the town, whenever they have a topic to converse about.
Jennifer was her closest friend, with whom she shared most of her personal problems and secrets with. She was not just a friend to her but a sister. Having being bothered by the nightmares she had been having recently, she decided to share it with Jennifer, which was the sole reason they were here. She believed that by sharing her worries with someone, it would help eased her up a little.
The weirdest aspect of the dreams, was that it felt so real, most especially the figure in that dream, it seemed a bit familiar and that alone scared her so much. She felt like she was being watched and followed.
Indie subconsciously rubbed her thumps continuously on her cup handle, as she was deep in thought. Observing the dense atmosphere, Jennifer called "Indie".
Indie's gaze fell on her with unspoken emotions visible across her face, seeing that, Jennifer's brows knitted as inquisitiveness surged alongside concern.
"Is everything okay?" She asked with her knitted brows turning into a raised one. Indie bit her lips, feeling nervous on how to blow the lid off. Jennifer might find it amusing, she was uncertain, perhaps she belonged to her father's category of people who were dubious about superstitions. Sounding childish as she spit her worries out to Jennifer, would have a broad chance of occurring but she didn't mind.
"Jenni?" she reluctantly called "Do you believe in supernatural?"
"Pardon?" Jennifer's concerned look turned to a confused one. Indie had her gaze brought down to her cup of coffee, staring at it, her voice came again.
"Recently I have been having nightmares, hostile ones actually"
"Nightmares? Hostile?" Queried Jennifer with a raised brows. Seeing how curious Jennifer was, Indie felt a bit relieved, at least she had seen someone interested to hear her weird story.
"Yep" She responded with a nod "In those dreams I was being chased by something, some kind of an unknown creature, I really specify, but it looked more like all those characters in horror movies…"
"You mean a mythical creature?" Jennifer cut her off.
"Yes, yes, something like that, like a kind of a demon, vampire, It was hideous, it's teeth were long and pointed, with a growing red eyes and dark liquid dripping from its mouth…" She described
