Chapter 9 - RUNIC MODULE SYSTEM

After getting the house, Nash started to prepare for his seclusion.

He bought appliances, from beds, tables, and cabinets to technology like phones, watches, TVs, computers, etc.

Nash also went to the dark web to buy some weapons for self-defense, including guns, traps, a defensive security net, hidden cameras, and more.

Fortifying his house, he spent over 800k arls in total.

Of course, planning to reward himself, Nash brought fresh food from the mountains and seas to the unique foods only offered to Arleanians.

Feeling satisfied, Nash went to the underground room and started his study of the Runic Space.

"Let's start."

After identifying the runic programs that controlled his muscles, bones, and organs, he only needed to combine them to form a runic module system.

A runic command directs an object on how it should move, similar to instructing how a strand of muscle should tighten.

On the other hand, a runic program consists of a series of runic commands that work together to complete a function, like the coordinated contraction of multiple strands of muscles in the heart to pump blood.

Expanding further, a runic module system integrates various programs, combining different parts of the body to perform complex actions such as throwing a punch or a jump.

---

A few days later, after tinkering with about a thousand runic programs, combining, rearranging, and erasing, Nash was met with error after error.

Although he could manipulate the runic symbols in the Runic Space, if what he did was contrary to the nature of the real world, it would prompt an error, rearranging the runic symbols to the beginning.

"This is much harder than I thought," Nash thought, intrigued but not deterred by the challenge.

After counting, there were only 934 runic programs controlling his muscles, bones, and organs.

Through trial and error, eliminating impossible combinations, Nash soon managed to create the [Control Module System].

"Not bad," he said, looking at the runic module system before him in the shape of a cube.

"But how do I control this?"

Nash had created a runic module system akin to an app; to control it, he needed a specialized device.

Faced with such a problem, he floated in the Runic Space, thinking of a solution.

"Why can't I just control this space automatically?" Nash complained.

Besides zooming in, zooming out, and manipulating the runic symbols according to his will, he didn't seem able to do anything.

Thinking about how he hadn't fully understood how he got here, it seemed he took everything for granted.

Being transmigrated to a new world, he just thought the Runic Space was his cheat and didn't think much.

With just his survival being a problem, he can only take it step by step.

Shaking his head, his thoughts returned to studying the Runic space.

In this empty space, the runic body is the only thing he can manipulate and control.

Although he saw it all the time, his amazement didn't diminish.

The runic body, as he called it, was like a universe made up of planets and stars, cycling in never-ending infinity.

The reason Nash was able to see such a scene, despite the runic symbols being minimized to the size of atoms, was because, in the Runic Space, his senses were infinitely magnified.

His 'eyes' were stronger than microscopes, his brain seemed to remember everything, and his mind didn't get tired.

While marveling at the magnificence of the runic body, he suddenly saw a flash of light.

"Huh? What is that? Am I hallucinating?"

Discovering something different, Nash felt energetic, looking at the runic body with full concentration.

Unfortunately, even after a few hours, he didn't see anything.

"Could it be because it's too small?" Nash hypothesized.

"Expand~"

"Expand~"

"Expand~"

Soon, with the sky and ground being filled with blue and red runes, Nash's consciousness flew around looking for clues.

With hours and days flashing by, Nash was about to give up when suddenly—

"Golden runes!"

Different from the blue and red runes, where he could see each individual runic symbol, this golden rune was only the size of a palm.

Peering inside, he went dizzy, like looking at something too grand.

"What is this?"

Not finding any answers, Nash did what he did best: trial and error.

---

A month later, since Nash bought the house.

"I got it..." Nash muttered dazedly as even his tireless mind felt clouded with all the experiments he had done.

Experimenting day and night without a break, besides taking a nutrient solution to keep his body alive, Nash finally found out the use of this golden rune, as he called it.

First, it could project his runic body, allowing him to manipulate it however he wanted

Second, as it could project his runic body, the changes that happened to it could also be simulated in the real world.

This meant the golden rune could simulate all the runic module systems he created.

Third and most importantly, he confirmed the golden rune was like his other self.

If his consciousness was the one thinking, then the golden rune was the one acting.

The way he manipulated, combined, and rearranged the runic symbols was the golden rune acting according to his will.

Not only did this confirm that the Runic Space was safe, but it also confirmed that this Runic Space was his.

Grabbing the [Control Module System] he created, he merged it with the golden runes in a certain way.

This part is what took him weeks; to merge the runic module system he created was like putting a puzzle into a more complicated puzzle while at the same time making sure it would not crash.

"Upload~"

Soon after merging it together, a control panel made up of runes appeared above the space.

"Just the way I wanted~."

The control panel was like that of a games.

From arrows symbolizing up, down, left, right, to run, punch, kick, jump, squat, crawl, stand, etc.

"Stand," Nash commanded.

Suddenly, he felt his unconscious body stand up.

However, instead of being happy, Nash was dumbfounded.

Like a game without a screen, although he knew his body moved, he could not see, hear, feel, smell, and taste inside the runic space.

"Damn I forgot about this!"

Inside the runic space, he only had a vague feeling of what was happening outside.

Without a way to see the outside world, the [Control Module System] would be in vain.

"Got to work more…"

Unable to test the [Control Module System], Nash went to create another module system.

---

A few days later, the [Sensing Module System] was born!

"Upload!" Shouting internally, he looked as a screen projection opened in the runic space.

On the screen projection, an image of the ceiling was presented.

"Yes! Succeed!"

Like a child who just got a toy, Nash couldn't wait to try it out.

Opening the [Control Module System], he began to command his body around.

"Walk."

"Jump."

"Punch."

"Turn."

"Crouch."

"Roll."

"Slap."

"It's too jerky," although excited, he felt unsatisfied.

The movements were too simple and robotic; there wasn't even automatic balancing, making his body fall to the ground a few times.

Furthermore, besides the sight, he hasn't even programmed the other senses into the [Sensing Module System]

"It seems I need to work harder!"

Creating his first functioning runic module systems, Nash felt endless motivation to make a better one.

However, just when he was about to continue working, the house blared a warning alarm.

"Who is it this time..."
