While Kiah was still lost in thought about her strange companion, yet another oddball appeared.
Drefan strolled over with his usual swagger and dropped down beside them under the tree, letting out a dramatic sigh. He set a can of water on the ground, tore open the wrapper of bread, and was just about to take a bite when he noticed two pairs of eyes staring right at him.
He froze mid-motion, blinking at their unwavering gazes.
"What?" He asked, tilting his head. "Am I interrupting something? Is this, uh, a lovers talk? Look, I'm a strong advocate for romance, but I don't think this is the right time for it. At least, let's leave this dangerous wasteland first, don't you agree?"
Both Kiah and Wayne said nothing, their faces blank.
