Kaito was now in this place which he assumed was a hospital. He didn't know what was going on; his memories were scattered and clustered due to the long time he spent in the darkness. Then he heard footsteps coming in his direction. He tried to move but was tightly tucked in, in whatever he was on. He forgot most of the names of things.
The door opened, and then he saw an old man who looked to be around mid-60s and had a huge scar on his right eye, and was most likely blind in that eye
Arakari Kyokin stood beside Kaito's bed, his one good eye fixed on his grandson's face. He spoke to the nurse in hushed tones, their conversation a gentle hum that Kaito couldn't quite decipher.
"...expect great things from him, Nurse. He's got the blood of the Arakari in him," Kyokin said, his voice low and gravelly.."
Kyokin's gaze lingered on Kaito's face, a mix of hope and expectation etched on his features. "He's got a long road ahead of him, but I have no doubt he'll excel. The Arakari legacy demands nothing less.
After the old man conversed with the nurse for a few minutes and left, Kaito caught snippets of their conversation, such as "physical status" and "chakra quantity." Though he might not remember much, he had a peculiar background. Before joining the army, he was an otaku who had watched over 100 anime series, including rom-coms and harem anime. Not only that, but he had also watched the "Big 3" anime series. Although he might have forgotten most of the plots, he knew where certain characters came from. It was obvious to him that some of his knowledge was influenced by Naruto.
Before he could think of anything else, he looked at the system: "Eclipse System? What the hell is that supposed to mean?" the young Kaito murmured in his thoughts. From what he could see, it seemed to provide him with a decent understanding of his abilities and quests.
He wondered how to enable the quest feature. Since he couldn't move his arm, he simply thought about clicking it. After about five minutes, it happened: "Click."
