You know, maybe things have gotten a little too peaceful in the cafe. Maybe that made Touma lax a little, with his guests of Lucoa, Link, and Gandalf and even Merlin making visits on the regular. Maybe, just maybe, something might happen to turn the peaceful atmosphere that was cultivated hand in hand, turn upside down in a sea of flames.
Of course, our dear cafe owner was just minding his business at the counter, serving the seemingly main interdimensional travelers of Link, Quetzalcoatl, and Gandalf. It was a couple days since they came to the cafe and became mainstays.
"Man, I love your tea" Gandalf said as he slipped from his cup. "Was it better than Bilbo?""By a large margin my friend" Gandalf laughed. Lucoa and Link watched from the sidelines as they ate.
Link apparently finished the temple he was at, and defeated the dragon that resided there. A dragon-slayer he now was, and it was quite a monumental feat to kill something as a dragon, even if the worldly logic seemed to differ.
"Quite a monumental feet link, dragons are notoriously hard to kill" Touma congratulated him in a genuine manner. "Congratulations are due Link" said Gandalf. "Dragons are beings of power, I daresay! I fear for Bilbo for he will have to slay a terrible wyrm" said Gandalf with regrets.
"I'm sure he will do fine" said Lucoa off handedly. "He sounds like a very sensible person." "Sensible yes, but full of courage and valor I fear not" said Gandalf with a slight chuckle as he sipped his tea. "Hey, he might change" said Link.
"I sure hope so, sir Link" said Gandalf as Link groaned. "Can you not with the sir please" he begged. "But what else should I call a swordsman rescuing a princess from evil?" Gandalf quirked his eyebrow.
Link slammed his head into the counter for his therapy as Lucoa laughed. "More food please!" she demanded as new food was set in front of her. She was a good customer, and she paid well over what she should. Gandalf paid with stories and a bit of magic bobbles, and Link paid with rupees, his worlds currency.
"Ah, I like the calm atmosphere of this place" Link muttered as he nursed his glass of chilled milk. "It is nice, better than being around noisy dragons all day" said Lucoa as she was chewing her food.
"Ah yes, qui---" Gandalf started but didn't finish. The door slammed roughly open and our main customers were also stopping with their simple meals to look towards the phenomena that caused the noise.
At the threshold of the slammed door was a boy, a young one at that. He had blonde hair, blue eyes, whisker marks on his cheeks, and was wearing a green and white shirt with a red spiral and blue sandles and green shorts.
He looked haggard and tired and his body was slightly battered and there was a few bruises on his arm. Of course as any normal person would, Touma went forth quickly and tried to figure out the situation.
"Hey kid, you alright?" Touma asked the kid who looked up at Touma and seemed afraid, if the slight shaking was anything to go by. He was seemingly afraid to talk and Touma decided to take care of the bruises first. He retrieved a talisman from his sleeve and chanted "Order!" The kid seemingly wanted to resist, but became fascinated as the bruises began to receded and the pain beginning to vanish.
"Wow! That's amazing mister!" the child shouted in glee. "What's your name mister?" the child asked, the usual hesitance seemingly gone from his voice. "Touma Tsuchimikado" Touma greeted him.
"Naruto Uzumaki! Remember that when I become Hokage" Naruto yelled. Touma was familiar with the notion, the world familiar. "What's Hokage?" asked Link as he came sauntering over, his hand full of a bottle with red liquid. "You don't know the Hokage! Where have you been under a rock?" he looked at Link incredulously.
"No, I live in Hyrule" "Hyrule?" Naruto seemed confused at what Hyrule was and Touma had to explain to him the cafes functions. "Multiple worlds? Are you crazy?" Naruto asked but they were interrupted by harsh and rapid knocks on the door.
"We know your in there demon! Come out now!" shouted some voices beyond the door and it didn't take a genius to figure out who they were talking about. Touma had something in him that seemed to boil up within him. His own mystical energy seemed to swell and bubble to the surface as he placed his hand on Narutos shoulder.
"Are you okay Naruto? who are the people out there?" Touma inquired about the people beyond the door. Naruto seemed to freeze up at the mention of those people. "They are villagers from my home, the hidden leaf village. They seem to hate me for some reason I don't know" Naruto said with fear hidden in his voice.
Toumas face seemed to darken as he picked Naruto up and put him on his shoulders. "Let's go face the monsters, okay?" said Touma as Naruto nodded and stepped outside to a large crowd of individuals.
Touma scanned them and saw their own mystical energy, their ki or whatever, was not very threatening. "There you are Demon! Have you come to hand yourself over!" asked a bestacled man. He wore a weird helmet that made him chuckle, drawing attention to himself.
"Who are you?" asked one of the crowd as everyone had their eyes on him. "A humble shopkeep, who is wondering why one of its customers is being attacked" Touma declared as he looked at the crowd and noticed disdain growing among them.
"Why are you defending the demon? Just hand over the thing and we will leave" said one of the dismissively, and something seemed to bubble forth. "Do you adults not see a problem in calling a child a demon?" asked Touma with an agressive tone.
"Just hand him over!" shouted one who lost themselves to reason and lunged towards Touma with a kunai. "Well, atleast I can claim self defense, hold on tight Naruto!" said Touma. He cloacked his fist in energy and punched forward, sending the ninja flying backwards into a wall.
The strength was controlled to be non-fatal, as Touma didn't want to get into too much trouble with local law, even if he could just escape them anyway. "So, back to my question" he began before another followed, and another was sent flying back.
"Okay, let me con---" "Water style: Drizzle" shouted a person who looked more like a ninja than the others. Touma could see the energy in his body flowing around his body, the signs used to conjure the technique in place of incantations, and an activation phrase, most likely for focus.
Sprouts of water were conjured out of chakra and flew towards Touma who fished a talisman out of his sleeve and flung it forward incantating "Earth overcomes water, Order!"The water was then dispersed by the talisman into harmless droplets before dispersing into energy.
"Okay, so I was not only attacked with weapons but also magic. Naruto boy, what do you think I should do now?" Touma asked with a sly grin. "Kick their ass!" screamed the child, language that they shouldn't be talking in.
Touma grinned and brought out five talismans and flung them towards the crowd and chanted "Energy of wood, become a prison. Order!" and the talismans produced a magical formula in the shape of a star and trapped them in a wooden prison. Then, he flung a talisman once more and subdued them with a quick spell.
"Alright!" Naruto cheered. It wasn't an unusual reaction for a child, especially seeing one of their bullies getting beat up of course.
Of course they weren't gonna take it lying down, so someone began to weave signs and a good amount of chakra collected in their mouths. "Fire style: fire breath!" They shouted in order to burn the wood to ash.
Touma looked over in annoyance, and flung over a water talisman, and a talisman to restrict the usage of their spiritual powers. It was a simple technique of blocking their meridians to prevent chakra flow of a certain level, to keep them alive.
"Okay, Naruto, do you know where the head honchos office is?" asked Touma as Naruto nodded. "Okay, lets get the cafe in order before we go report this to save sus some trouble" said Touma as he went inside to calm the customers and placed Link in charge.
"Wait! You can't leave me in charge!" he cried as Touma left with Naruto for the Hokage tower.
