Chapter 272: Foraging
Sean took out some high-quality snake food from his luggage to tide Kulkan over.
Though dissatisfied with the snake food, Kulkan understood they were at Castelobruxo now, not Hogwarts, where Sean could summon house-elves.
Fortunately, the jungle had everything.
Regarding Kulkan's desire to go to the jungle, Sean didn't think she was being unreasonable. In fact, Sean was very clear that for the current Kulkan, ordinary flesh and snake food, no matter how high quality or nutritious, could hardly satisfy her needs.
The current Kulkan was in a stage of rapid growth.
She needed large amounts of flesh and blood food rich in magical power every moment to supplement her body's needs. Otherwise, she would remain in a state of extreme hunger. If this continued, she would gradually become overwhelmed by hunger, and at that point, Kulkan would probably not be able to consider the difference between magical creatures and wizards.
After all, wizard flesh and blood also contained powerful magical energy.
Previously at Hogwarts, Sean had house-elves prepare flesh and blood from XX and XXX-rated magical creatures that were edible to supply Kulkan.
At that time, Kulkan didn't need very much. Just paying Hogwarts a modest fee could have the house-elves prepare those things.
But since Sean's final exams at Hogwarts, Kulkan's need for flesh and blood containing magical power had been increasing daily. XX and XXX-rated magical creature flesh was no longer sufficient to satisfy Kulkan. At that time, Sean had Aldrich get a batch of dried dragon meat from the dragon farm, which solved Kulkan's problem.
Previously, Kulkan could go a long time after eating once, and dried dragon meat could sustain her for even longer. So when the dragon farm didn't have much dragon meat, Sean hadn't brought much extra dried dragon meat, never expecting that after arriving at Castelobruxo, Kulkan's need for magical flesh would increase geometrically.
Even under some unknown influence in the jungle, as Kulkan's hunger grew, she was becoming somewhat irritable.
"Kulkan, endure it a bit. I'll take you out to forage right now. It happens that many magical creatures have appeared in the forests around Castelobruxo recently. We should be able to find the food you need."
"Sean, hurry up. I feel like I can barely hold back anymore."
Seeing the increasingly agitated Kulkan, Sean let her crawl up his sleeve to his chest, then directly opened the window, cast a Disillusionment Charm, and disappeared into the night.
Castelobruxo's supervision of night wandering was stricter than Hogwarts.
After all, there were many magical creatures within Castelobruxo. If they provoked some magical creature and caused those creatures to riot, it would definitely be a huge problem in the dead of night.
Multiple night wanderings at Hogwarts had improved Sean's Disillusionment Charm to LV3 level. This level of Disillusionment Charm could already compare to some ordinary invisibility cloaks, though naturally it couldn't compare to Harry's Deathly Hallow.
Flying silently at low altitude, Sean used Wolf's Keenness to avoid patrolling professors from far away and slipped into the forest ahead.
As soon as they entered the forest, Kulkan emerged from Sean's embrace. Her body rapidly enlarged, transforming into the white python form most suitable for forest environments, while using invisibility to drill toward the forest depths.
Chupacabra.
An XXXX-rated magical creature.
In Muggle legends, chupacabras were considered a type of demon.
They looked like malnourished piglets with long legs and short tails. They liked to stay with pigs and drink sow's milk. They could grow very large and were very fast. They feared pure white hunting dogs.
In the jungle, there were naturally no pig pens.
But there were wild boars in the jungle!
In a wild boar den, a chupacabra was nestled against a sow, unrestrainedly taking the sow's milk. But just as this chupacabra was drinking contentedly, a chill spreading from its tail suddenly reached its head. Without any hesitation, the chupacabra's body, which had looked like a malnourished piglet, suddenly enlarged, directly knocking the sow away, trampling two piglets to death, and becoming a blur as it fled into the distance.
But just then, a massive tail suddenly materialised in the void, slapping the chupacabra and sending it flying to crash hard against a tree behind it.
After grunting twice, just as the chupacabra prepared to get up and continue fleeing, Kulkan suddenly emerged from behind it, coiling around the chupacabra's body.
When the chupacabra shrank, Kulkan also shrank. When the chupacabra enlarged, Kulkan also enlarged.
Until the chupacabra's resistance grew weaker and weaker, Kulkan suddenly constricted, finishing off the chupacabra, then opened her mouth and swallowed it whole. However, strangely, the originally massive chupacabra, after being swallowed by Kulkan, initially caused her body to bulge, but as Kulkan swallowed, her body became thinner and thinner until it returned to normal, as if she had digested the food in the blink of an eye.
"Ahh... comfortable, satisfying, delicious..."
"Are you full?"
Sean emerged from the empty void, revealing his form.
Kulkan smacked her lips, saying with lingering satisfaction: "Although I'm not hungry anymore, I'm not quite full either. One XXXX-rated magical creature isn't enough."
"That was an entire XXXX-rated chupacabra, and you're still not full?"
"Hehe, wait a bit more. I can already smell some familiar scents. There are more chupacabras nearby!"
Three chupacabras total, plus two wild boars eaten along the way. Kulkan was very satisfied with tonight's hunt. After eating and drinking her fill, she crawled back into Sean's embrace and fell asleep again.
Sean cast the Disillusionment Charm again and returned to his dormitory at Castelobruxo. After tidying up briefly and drinking some water that Aldrich had prepared for him while he and Kulkan were out, he finally went to sleep.
Just then, at the location where Kulkan had just appeared to hunt, the sky above suddenly became filled with dark clouds, thunder and lightning, wind and rain. Accompanied by rumbling thunder and flashing lightning, the shadow of a bird with three pairs of wings and a snake-like elongated tail appeared and disappeared in the clouds.
Finally, having found nothing, the Thunderbird soared away and quickly disappeared above the cloud layer.
