Chapter 2 - The offer I cannot reject

Diana's POV

As he pronounced those words I felt so disgusted by his arrogant words, I hate his gut already.

"I'm not a property, whoever you may be," I stated,I could not hide my anger, but the man just smirked which irritated me more.

"You are right, but money is not meant to buy properties only," he replied. By then I was no more angry, I was furious to have an encounter with someone this arrogant, and I lost interest in staying in the same space with the man any longer.

I was about to announce my leave , but the man seems to have something to say.

"I don't wish for this meeting to happen again," he said with a rude tone.

"I also don't look forward to this meeting again," I replied. And the man looked at me mysteriously, which made me feel bothered.

We both set to leave the restaurant, but he was behind attending to some God knows issue on his phone.

I got to the entrance of the restaurant that was so spacious when I got in, and it was already full of people with cameras, which I suspected to be reporters.

I tried looking for a way out without being pushed, then my heels failed me, I was about to fall then a well muscular arm caught me, I felt some adrenaline rush through me as the man held me so tight till I balanced my position.

Before I knew it, I felt the flashes of cameras in my direction with so many questions from the reporters that I don't even understand.

I tried taking a look at the man that held me from falling down and the light was so flashy for me to know that the man was the most ruthless billionaire in the country.

What! Simon Windsor! This man is the president of Windsor corporation! My blind date partner!

I was still shocked that Simon Windsor and I are staying this close to each other , but then reality hit me and then I knew I was trapped in the midst of reporters with questions I didn't understand!

"Are you bothered, miss." He said with a smirk, but I could only nod my head silently..

I saw how cool he was with the kind of situation we are in and he doesn't look bothered and still close to me.

I tried to cover my face so as not to snap . It was too late because I knew many will have my picture taken already now.

The guards helped us through the entrance and three expensive looking cars stopped before us. I was wondering how to get out of there so I could take a cab and go home, because I was still yet to recover from this situation, because I know my life can't be normal again.

I tried to escape, but I felt a hand clamped with mine and the feeling was unspeakable.

"Where do you think you are going, miss," he said. Which sounds to me like I am trapped, before I could reply he already pulled me to the car, which I don't know how I got in.

On our way to only God knows, there was an awkward silence inside the car, which I later broke with my question.

"Where are we going, Sir," I asked nervously.

"You will know when we get there, miss," he replied, not looking at my side. "Okay" I said. I looked sideways to view the city, not knowing what will happen to me next after this.

As they stopped moving, I guessed we were at the destination as I saw a penthouse when I looked out of the car window. The building was more than beautiful, but I couldn't appreciate it more as I knew the situation I was in.

I came down out of the car so as the Simon Windsor too, I was led inside by someone I suspected to be his secretary.

"Sit here and the president will join you shortly" he said and I nodded my head in agreement, I couldn't move an inch from my seat.

After sometime Simon Windsor came down, and he looked like he was just taking a shower, but how can someone still think of having a shower in this kind of situation? I thought.

Then he sat down on a couch far and opposite to mine.

"I thought you said you don't look forward to our meeting again, but you just complicated matters for yourself," he said. I couldn't reply. I just kept at him like I didn't understand what he was saying.

"My grandmother saw the news and she's interested in you," he said with a serious look, "what's my business with? I thought.

"I don't understand you, Mr Windsor," I said with the look of demanding an explanation.

"You know who I am now, but you are yet to introduce yourself, little Miss," he said.

I was about to introduce myself, but his words cut in, "have you been involved in any scandal before?" He asked. I did not know why he would ask such a question.

"No," I answered.

"Great, I think you are qualified," he said and I wondered what he meant by that.

"I'm Qualified?" I asked and Simon nodded his head.

"Yes, you are qualified to be my contracted bride," he said and my eyes widened hearing the most shocking sentences of the day.

"What? What did you mean by that?" I asked and the man just shrugged his shoulders like he said something that makes sense.

"Exactly what you heard," he said and I wondered if the man was high on cheap drugs or lost some screw in his head.

What is going on in his head? I thought he should find a way to clear my name with the press so I could go back to my normal life!

"What are you saying? You should apologize for getting me involved in all this, you should fix this and stop acting like I came here to audition to be your whatever bride," I said, trying to understand the situation, but the man stays expressionless showing off his dark aura.

"I'm giving you an offer you cannot reject," he said. What does he take me for, I thought.

"An offer I cannot reject?" I said, with my voice oozing with confusion.

What's that?
