Seraphina's POV
The morning light filtered through the gauzy curtains of my suite at Stone Manor. I'd slept surprisingly well despite yesterday's strange encounter with Aurora. The bed was cloud-soft, cocooning me in comfort I hadn't felt in weeks.
A gentle knock interrupted my thoughts.
"Miss Moon? Breakfast is ready whenever you'd like to come down." Cora's voice was pleasant through the door.
"Thank you. I'll be right there."
I dressed quickly in a simple blue sweater and jeans, wanting to look presentable but not overly formal. As I brushed my hair, I caught sight of my neck in the mirror. The mating marks were gone, leaving only smooth skin where the triplets' bonds had been.
The emptiness there matched the hollow feeling in my chest. My wolf whimpered softly, still mourning what we'd lost.
"Stop it," I whispered. "We made our choice."
