The blade of air cut towards Noah.
He didn't think. He simply threw himself to the side, and just in time, as the blade gouged the ground where he'd been, sending dirt spraying into the air.
He didn't stop, diving behind a nearby tree. He clutched at his shoulder, gritting his teeth through the pain.
There was no doubt about it. His shoulder blade was broken. But he didn't care. He'd have to keep fighting.
This was his one chance. His one opportunity to save his own life. If he stopped because of the pain of broken bones, then he deserved to die.
The Gale Rhino bellowed, the sound surprisingly close.
Noah peeked from behind the tree, just in time to see a distortion of air flying towards him at an extreme speed.
His eyes widened in shock. The blade of air was too near, and too fast for him to dodge entirely, so he dove forward, cursing under his breath.
The blade of air impacted the tree trunk, a loud sound of exploding wood spreading through the forest.
