Chapter 135 - A fierce battle, easily defeating the Wind Wolf

Deep within the Soul Beast Forest, there was no hope of outside help arriving.

When fighting in the wild, it wasn't the sheer strength of a single soul beast that was most terrifying, but rather the danger posed by soul beasts that hunted in packs.

He understood the truth well — even a swarm of ants could kill an elephant.

"Dean, capture the leader first! Kill this Swift Wolf, and I guarantee the rest will retreat!"

At that moment, Dai Mubai had already fully activated his martial spirit's true body, his cold gaze sweeping over the surrounding wolves.

These wolves were merely thousand-year-old soul beasts, and with his strength, he could still handle them.

Zhu Zhuqing quickly moved to Dai Mubai's side, nodding firmly.

The remaining Shrek Seven Monsters all wore expressions full of fighting spirit.

They were Shrek's students — retreating without a fight was not an option.

Flander laughed loudly.

"Good!"

"Hold on. Erlong and I will deal with this Swift Wolf together."

As he spoke, a figure suddenly appeared behind the Wind Wolf.

"Boss Fu, it's been too long since we fought side by side. Let's show these youngsters what we can really do!"

A smile lit up Liu Erlong's eyes, and her face showed a rare sense of ease.

Though she had always been hot-tempered, years at the academy had tempered her impulsiveness.

Flames erupted around her, her figure almost transforming into a humanoid fire dragon.

She raised her claw-like hand and brought it crashing down toward the Wind Wolf's head.

"Let's see today whether your head is harder or my hands!"

Her gaze locked fiercely onto the Wind Wolf.

But the Wind Wolf was no easy prey.

A barrage of wind blades formed behind it, falling like a torrential rain.

However, the moment they touched the flames around Liu Erlong, they vanished without a trace.

While the Wind Wolf was focused on her, Flander thrust his hand like a sword straight into the wound on its back.

The sudden pain drove the Wind Wolf into a frenzy.

A violent gust swept out, sending everyone stumbling in the wind.

The Wind Wolf spread its wings and lunged viciously at Flander.

Using its speed, it turned the surrounding area into its territory.

Caught off guard, Flander took a slash across the arm, leaving two or three bloody gashes.

"Hiss…"

He yanked his arm back, wincing, then drove his other fist hard into the Wind Wolf's abdomen.

The beast was knocked flying but quickly regained its balance in mid-air.

Liu Erlong hadn't expected the soul beast to be so cunning.

She surged forward, launching another heavy strike.

But the Wind Wolf's speed outmatched hers — it clearly knew her strength and refused to face her head-on.

Each of her attacks was skillfully avoided.

The fight between the three of them fell into a stalemate.

This deadlock, however, doubled the pressure on Dai Mubai and the others.

Dozens of thousand-year-old soul beasts had surrounded them in a tight ring, launching attacks whenever an opening appeared.

If they failed to gain the upper hand, they would retreat quickly and then strike again.

"I didn't expect these soul beasts to be so sly — using delaying tactics like this."

"If we drag this out, we won't be able to hold on. This is the Soul Beast Forest — more beasts will be drawn here."

Oscar's face was pale as his hands worked quickly, producing recovery sausages.

Without his supplies, their situation would already be far worse.

Dai Mubai clenched his fists. If they were only facing one or two enemies, he'd have already charged in to slaughter them.

But dozens of thousand-year-old soul beasts were enough to make even him feel the pressure.

If he charged forward, Ning Rongrong and Oscar behind him would be completely exposed.

Zhu Zhuqing alone could not hold back so many enemies.

"Damn beasts," Dai Mubai cursed inwardly, his tiger-like eyes flashing with anger.

"Flander, we can't keep this up! These kids are under as much pressure as we are!"

Liu Erlong abruptly broke away and charged toward Dai Mubai and the others.

With a single swipe of her claws, three Swift Wolves were crushed into pulp.

Even if she couldn't kill the wolf king, ordinary wind wolves were no problem at all.

When Ma Hongjun arrived, the first thing he saw was Liu Erlong's fierce, commanding stance.

"Teacher Erlong! Dean!"

With a loud shout, his figure landed before everyone, the wings on his back glowing faintly with flame.

"You're alright, kid!"

Seeing his apprentice, Flander let out a breath of relief.

"Where are Xiao Wu and Gu Yuena?"

Liu Erlong hadn't forgotten about the two girls and asked with a frown.

"They're behind," Ma Hongjun replied. He knew Xiao Wu had left with Gu Yuena, and Gu Yuena would know his whereabouts.

Erming and Daming were with them. Though they didn't know why Xiao Wu was hiding, they didn't reveal her.

When Ma Hongjun arrived, he had asked Gu Yuena to bring Xiao Wu to reunite with the group quickly.

Sure enough, moments later, two graceful figures appeared before them.

Seeing Liu Erlong and Flander, Xiao Wu felt a wave of embarrassment and guilt.

If not for her, the two teachers would never have ventured so deep into the Soul Beast Forest.

"It's good that you're all safe. As for the rest, we'll discuss it back at the academy," Flander said, relieved.

Once he and Liu Erlong's eyes returned to the Wind Wolf King, they attacked in unison — one from the left, the other from the right — completely blocking its escape.

Liu Erlong advanced with an overwhelming presence, while Flander sealed off its rear.

Unable to dodge in time, the Gale Wolf took a direct hit from Liu Erlong's claws.

Its massive body was sent hurtling through the air.

It wasn't a soul beast skilled in direct combat — its strengths were intelligence and extreme speed, perfect for a drawn-out battle.

But Liu Erlong and Flander had already seen through its tactics.

Their earlier stalemate had been a setup to land a decisive strike.

The Wind Wolf crashed heavily to the ground. Liu Erlong stepped down hard on its body.

"You beast — weren't you smug just a moment ago?"

She hadn't forgotten the mocking gleam in its eyes as it dodged her earlier attacks.

Her crushing force drew a miserable scream from the wolf.

The wolf king's cry sent the surrounding pack scattering.

"Flander, this soul beast should suit you perfectly."

She didn't lift her foot from the wolf.
