Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

JORDYN'S POV

I was in a deep conversation with Josh in my office when a sudden, intense sensation washed over me, sending waves down my spine. My senses came to life all at once.

It was as if my senses had been hijacked, and I was hit with a familiar sweet scent. That unmistakable scent. It was her!! The sweet smell that hasn't left my nostrils since the very day I met her. It was Britney.

This weird feeling. I could feel my wolf on a total rampage. But wait... what is she doing in the pack house?

As I struggled to regain my composure, a chill crept up my spine at the mere thought of seeing her.

"You okay bro?" Josh's voice suddenly pulled me out of my confusion.

I turned to him, but my mind was blank and unable to form a coherent response.

"What's wrong?" He asked, the concern visible on his face. "You seem out of it lately, I think you need some time off." He advised.

I exhaled awkwardly, "Yeah... I think I need some time off." I agreed unhesitatingly.

Josh nodded. "So I'll see you later." He said. "When you're better." He flashed a broad smile before excusing himself.

Finding Britney was the only thing I could think of. Immediately Josh left, I put everything on hold and found my way to the door. My heart raced with anticipation; I couldn't be mistaken, it had to be her. I could feel it-my wolf was tearing through my skin as I quickened my pace.

It was coming from the training arena. Training?! Why would she be in the training arena?

As I approached the arena, my impatience grew. It was painful to hold my wolf back.

As I stepped into the arena, the scent became almost overwhelming, filling my lungs with its sweet, intoxicating aroma.

The cheers and chants from the crowd were loud, indicating that a battle was ongoing, but my focus was solely on finding her.

I was ready to stop the fight just so I could find her in the crowd. But then, a sound stopped me dead in my tracks. A menacing growl echoed through the arena, followed by a loud, painful scream. My heart skipped a beat as I recognized the voice, her scream?!

I pushed my way through the crowd, my eyes scanning the fighting ring, and then I saw her... helplessly pinned to the ground, trying to fend off a snarling wolf. My eyes widened in horror as I saw the injuries on her chest and arms, with blood trickling down her skin.

This was all it took, and my mind went blank with rage. I was one thread away from transforming into my wolf, I was just a string away from unleashing my fury upon that filthy brown wolf and tearing it to shreds.

My vision turned red, I could feel my body begin to shift. My muscles tensed, and my claws extended. The crowd around me faded into the background, and all that mattered was saving her, protecting her from harm.

I was a hair's breadth away from losing control and surrendering to my wolf's instincts.

"How dare you?" I muttered under my breath.

"Kill" My wolf barked, as if echoing my thoughts. Seeing Britney hurt was like a knife twisting in my gut and my wolf was itching to unleash its wrath.

"Kill," My wolf growled again, the sound tumbling deep within my chest.

"Enough!" I suddenly shouted, my voice thundering through the arena, scaring everyone who was watching the fight.

The crowd gasped, their eyes wide with fear as they scrambled to clear a path for me.

I could see the terror in their eyes and my thoughts were on a rampage ' Yes, fear me. Fear what I'm capable of.'

As the crowd parted, I strode forward, my eyes fixed on the wretched wolf that was still pinning Britney to the ground. My gaze was a cold, hard glare, and my voice was low and menacing, "I'll crush you." I subconsciously uttered, the words dripped with venom.

That must have been a very terrifying thing to say because the wolf immediately whimpered in obvious fright, its tail tucked between its legs, and ran away into the crowd.

The sudden departure left Britney lying there, injured and vulnerable, "Enough training for today!" I commanded again, dismissing everybody from the arena.

The crowd scattered, leaving behind the injured Britney, who lay helpless on the dirty floor.

The sight before me was like a dagger to my heart, and I felt a surge of protectiveness.

I walked up to her, my footsteps deliberate and slow, and knelt on one knee beside her. Gazing into her eyes, I searched for answers to the series of questions racing through my mind. why was she here? And why was she fighting with a wolf? None of this made sense to me.

As I stared into her eyes, I saw a flicker of surprise, but not because of my presence. It was as if she was surprised that I had arrived at the exact moment I did. I reached out a hand, hesitating for a moment before gently brushing a strand of hair out of her face. I could sense her guard was up, her eyes held a hint of deep-seated wariness.

Without warning, I scooped her up, sweeping her off the ground. I must have been too rough, because she winced and gasped, her body tensed in my arms. I could tell she was in excruciating pain, arid my heart twisted with a mix of anger and concern.

I softened my grip, cradling her gently as I walked out of the arena. I didn't utter a word to her as I was too angry to speak. She had a lot of explaining to do and I was determined to get answers.
