At the city's first hospital, Joanna Ramsey lay on the hospital bed, hooked up to an IV, moaning from the pain.
Victor Bennett sat nearby, his face unchanged, listening to her endless moans, and snapped irritably.
"You know it hurts, huh? Stuffing yourself like crazy, did you really think you had a stomach of steel?"
Joanna looked at him, her mouth quivering, and started sobbing again.
Indeed, taking advantage of Victor Bennett comes with consequences...
"Oh, my dear lady, why are you crying again? I wasn't really blaming you, was I?"
"My stomach is uncomfortable."
"Acute gastroenteritis, of course you're uncomfortable," Victor Bennett said, finally relenting.
"Do you want me to buy you some porridge to warm your stomach?"
Joanna looked at him, pitifully nodded.
"Then wait for me, I'll be right back."
Victor Bennett said and then left the ward.
Joanna sniffed, then picked up the phone next to her and dialed Bella Green's number.
