Bella Green huffed and then stomped up the stairs.
Watching the girl's back, Mason Bennett couldn't help but lift the corners of his mouth.

Mason Bennett withdrew his gaze and looked at the cake on the coffee table, his eyes deepened.
After thinking for a moment, he lifted his hand to open it and paused in surprise as he lifted the lid.
The cake design wasn't too complicated, a round cake covered with a layer of cream, topped with chocolate sauce.
On top was a small box made of white chocolate, and inside the box was a small cream puppy.
Three crooked words were scrawled on the box.
"Please adopt me!"
Looking at those three words, Mason Bennett couldn't help but chuckle deeply, his deep-set eyes filled with amusement.
Judging by the rough workmanship, Mason Bennett didn't need to guess to know that Bella Green made it herself.
And that little cream puppy...
