Seeing Bella Green's eyes turn red, Mason Bennett felt as if his throat was clutched, making even breathing difficult.
"Let's go to the hospital!" he said in a deep voice.
Though the voice was icy, the deep-seated tension and concern were palpable.
Bella Green shook her head, "It doesn't hurt."
Mason Bennett slackened his grip on the cotton swab, seeming to understand why Bella Green reacted this way.
He lowered his head and continued treating her wound, his movements gentler than before, and spoke softly.
"I'll be more gentle."
Bella Green sniffed and said nothing.
The wounds were several, but none severe, they were merely scratches, quickly taken care of.
Finally, Mason Bennett looked at the blood mark on the girl's cheek from the nail scratch, his brow furrowed, a hint of fierceness flashed through his eyes.
But within moments, he continued to treat the girl's facial wound.
"Don't worry, it won't leave a scar."
